Who’s afraid of the big bad bat? Well, besides the dozen or so goons who are spending an evening in an ICU and adjusting to the fact that they’re going to be crippled for life. There aren’t too many villains who can match Batman in a physical and mental showdown, but the Arkham Knight might be the closest threat in many a year. There’s been a lot of speculation as to who’s the man is underneath that fancy high-tech helmet. And right now, the odds are definitely leaning in favour of former Robin Jason Todd. Thanks to some toys that is.
Toy Fair kicked off on the weekend in New York City, as industry people came together to show off their latest and upcoming wares, while presumably shooing away eager fanboys outside. Marvel, Transformers, Star Wars and various other properties were all on show, as were several upcoming Arkham Knight tie-in figures. Figures.com has a rather nifty photo of the upcoming Arkham Knight figure, while Action Figure Insider snapped a new look at the Red Hood:
Spot the similarity yet? Then take a peek at the guns that the characters are using:
Yep, they’re both packing the same kind of heat. A pair of customised pistols, that have the exact same shape and size. What we do know about the game so far, is that Red Hood will be available as a pre-order bonus with his own set of challenge maps. We also know that Jason Todd hasn’t been left out of the Arkham Universe, as both the first Robin, Dick Grayson and the third Robin, Tim Drake, have appeared in the game. Oh, and the Joker did also casually mention that he murdered one of the Robins.
Add more tinfoil to the hat with Rha’s Al Gul having been present in the sequel Arkham City, and we’ve got the Lazarus Pit that’s needed to revive the former Batman protégé and give him a new lease on life. At this point, I can’t see the Arkham Knight not being Jason Todd. The clues are there, the infrastructure to play as him is in place and it’d be a complete waste to not have him revealed in the game. Hell, I’ll eat my Batman shirt if I’m wrong.

Having their big villain unmasked by a doll? Bit of a Ra’s Own Goal.

If its based on the Batman: Rush story line, then it should have a decent story.

No, no, he’s right. It’s when Batman went through some sh*t after Jezebel Jet left him, so he got depressed and started racing the Batmobile on the professional circuit.
It was adapted into a Ron Howard directed film starring Chris Hemsworth, Daniel Brühl and Olivia Wilde.

I bet he’s a DLC character to be announced as part of a season pass. As is the norm these days.
“But he uses guns like the Arkham Knight.” – Clueless fan
No the Arkham Knight uses guns like the Red Hood.

It’s not uncommon for toy makers (?) to use use the same sculpts for numerous (especially weapons and accessories) figurines, so this might be very well nothing.

See that’s the thing. The cheap method would be to just give the Arkham Knight one gun. But two? I’m in tinfoil hat mode.

I wouldn’t be all that surprised if it is a brain-washed Todd who wants to punish Batman like he did in UtRH and after Batman is [SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER]offed[END OF SPOILER] in the game, there’s a redemption sort of arc.
And to a degree, I think the accent is a [puts on glasses ] Red Herring. To a degree.

These figures are made by different companies though, so they didn’t reuse the sculpt.

Well, it was awesome. Seriously enjoyed it. We did not really talk about the kid, which was also cool. We went for a walk afterwards, then to the mall to walk around there. Then home for ice-cream.
BUT, it turns out that getting lunch at one of the better restaurants was not easy, they were all closed for lunch, Ended up a very nice restaurant in Montana that I had never heard of before. Food was very good, service was good.

toureiro(However you spell it).
Was an awesome place, to be honest. nice pond. Splashed a bit of cash, but it was a R500 meal (no starters or pudding) so no complaints there.

Batman did not know about the laz pit in AC until the end of the game. Also its been destroyed.
The Devs have said it’s a brand new bad guy. He could be using the Red Hoods guns or they are just generic guns for the toys.
Everything posted on this site turns out to be wrong.

Lets be detectives here… As one gentleman stated, more than likely they just used the same molds to save money. Also I’ve about had it with people saying it’s Jason. Did you ask not watch Under the Red Hood? The whole point of it is to beg the question of why batman hasn’t killed joker, well guess what? In Arkhamverse, its done, therefore what motive would Jason have to torment, let alone kill, batman? It just doesn’t add up. Plus why would they announce DLC for the proposed identity of this character they’re trying to keep hush hush? And speaking of Hush, I’m almost willing to bank on him being the man behind the mask. Hear me out, Hugo is rumored to have a replica of the batsuit in his office, and one of very few people to know batsy’s identity. Is it too far fetched to say that Hush, as he had already assumed the role of Bruce Wayne, finds Strange’s office, discovers Batman’s identity and Hugo’s replica, then essentially tries to take out two birds (or bats in this case) with one stone? I think not, but that’s just my theory. Everyone’s quick to jump on the idea of Todd being the Knight, but I’m still quite skeptical.
