Just a few months ago, things weren’t looking so hot for World of Warcraft. Granted, there were still millions of active players, but it was on a slow and steady decline. Blizzard were hoping that Warlords of Draenor would revitalise things somewhat, and it has.
According to a press release from Blizzard, they have surpassed 10 million subscribers thanks to the launch of their latest expansion.
On November 13, millions of Azeroth’s champions enlisted for the war against the Iron Horde with the launch of World of Warcraft®: Warlords of Draenor™, the fifth expansion to the world’s #1 subscription-based massively multiplayer online role-playing game.* Blizzard Entertainment today announced that as of the first 24 hours of the expansion’s availability, more than 3.3 million copies had sold-through† and the game’s global subscriber base had passed 10 million, with growth across all major regions
Expansion or not, for a game that is around 10 years old, that’s damn impressive. The launch had some teething problems (including a DDOS attack), but Blizzard made it up with an apology and some free game time. I expect players to stick around for a good few months at least.
Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment, is happy with the results the expansion has yielded.
“We’re thrilled that so many players jumped in to play Warlords of Draenor on day one and are having a great time with the new content. We poured a lot of hard work and passion into this expansion, and we appreciate all the kind words from players and the overwhelming support they continue to show for World of Warcraft.”
I’ve yet to give World of Warcraft a bash. I fear I will fall into the addiction and never crawl out. Besides, where am I meant to find time for it AND that other game I love so much?

Started playing last night and oh my gawd I keep walking and stopping at points and just stare at the beauty, the story so far is a bit odd but I’m sure it’ll get more clear as I progress further.

It picks up straight after the events in 1, so yes, can be a bit confusing at the start.

In the end cinematic gerald rushes into the kings study and kills the assasin with king foltest right there next to him alive and now in 2 hes been captured and questioned about the same kings death?

If I remember right, because it’s been quite a while, they’re playing with flashbacks to previous events when switching between the interrogation & the events that led up to his capture. Kinda like in a TV show when they show the end result first, but then the events leading up to it.

I wanted to play WoW for so long but meh it’s true they say the game is more fun with friends, and the odds of meeting other fellow SA players on the game is next to nill. I’ll buy a subscription again if i get to play with alot of SA peeps.

I’m seriously considering getting back into WoW.
Haven’t played it in over 3 years…
That was mainly due to the fact that it was supremely difficult to find people who were willing to take me on Raids and other things.
I only ever killed Illidan, nobody else 🙁

November 21, 2014 at 08:17
well, at lvl 90 you can solo illidan, lich king, and all other 60, 70 ,80 raids as well as all 60-80 instances normal and heroic 🙂
there is a dungeon finder now as well so you can queue for raids and instances and get matched into groups just like pvp battlegrounds. so seeing all the content is very easy now

Hmmm. Tempting.
I really don’t want to have download gigs and gigs again just to get the game though.
I may have to find someone who I can grab the installed game from if I decide to jump back in.

Winning name, I used to play on a US server and everyone kept on asking what my Tauren druid’s name (Braaivleis) meant.

Yeah I was part of something like that a few years back, then real life happened and I had to quit 🙁
We are hoping on building up a decent roster to make a core 10man raiding group, will see how we do!

I dont have any horde chars funnily enough. I mean I got 1 or 2 low levels, but nothing near max, always been on alliance. Saying that I been considering faction change for one of mine just to experience the horde side of this xpac.

We’ll see how long it lasts though… have to wait 60-90 days after the end of the month to know how many will stick with it.
