Just when you thought you’d defeated the hulking, mighty chimera that is your Steam backlog, here comes another humble bundle to take your money – and your free time with it. The Humble Namco Bundle offers up some of the best games from the Japanese publisher, in a pay what you like offer that includes ghosts, deaths, and a trip to the West.
Paying whatever measly sum of money you’d like gets you the Pac-Man Championship Edition DX+ All You Can Eat Edition, Platformines and DeadCore. Pac-Man Championship edition is a truly wonderful take on the classic game, and is worth much more than the current average just on its own. Yes, really.
Paying the average (currently just over $6) though, gets you a little more. You’ll also receive Ridge Racer Unbounded Complete, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West Premium Edition, and Ace Combat Assault Horizon – Enhanced Edition, plus more games to be announced soon.
And then there’s the coup de grace. Paying $10 or more for the top, masochistic tier gets you the damningly difficult, but decidedly wonderful Dark Souls: Prepare To Die Edition – which on its own, is usually $20. If you’re intrigued by Dark Souls, but have never mustered the testicular fortitude to actually give it a go, now’s the perfect time.
Because it’s a Humble Bundle, you can split your donation whichever way you choose – between publisher, the Humble Bundle organisers and this week’s charity; Save the Children. All games net you a Steam key.
It’s a rather good bundle, and I can’t wait to see what else is added. Pay the $10 (which at time of writing equals around about R125) to get Dark Souls, which will give you about a hundred hours of great gaming. Plus, you get the best Pac-Man game in decades.
