I don’t play Minecraft – but my kids do. They’re always hogging my PC, the Laptop, the consoles and just about everything else capable of playing Mojang Microsoft’s block breaking and building game. Well, except for the tablet-based, Pocket Edition..because it’s awful. It’s actually somewhat annoying, and I’ve been waiting for the Vita version for ages – mostly so that they can play on the system that gets the least use in my household. It’s finally coming.
After months and months of waiting, and a delay or seventeen, Minecraft for the PlayStation Vita has finally passed certification and will be headed to the newest portable PlayStation next week. Unlike the Pocket Edition, the Vita version is essentially the same as PS3 and Xbox Ones. I’ll be snapping this up as soon as its available to us, on October 15th. That’s the Euro release date, with no word on when our American chums will get the diminutive port.
Mojang’s porting-pals 4J Studios revealed the release date, along with a hand-dandy video showing how cool the pocketable port will be.

The Vita version, unlike it’s PlayStation4 pal passed certification on its first go. The Ps4 version had to be recertified, delaying its release a little. I’m excited. Not only is there a good reason to dust my Vita off, but I’ll finally be able to use my PC again on weekends.
