A little while ago, Geoff told you about an upcoming game called Perception. The developers – made up of folk who previously worked on titles like BioShock and Dead Space – took to Kickstarter to get their horror title some funding. They had a month to raise $150,000 to bring their game to life. It looks like they’re going to meet that target… only just.
Forgotten what the game is all about? Here’s the latest trailer and a brief blurb (via Polygon):
Perception is a first-person narrative horror adventure that tells the story of Cassie, a blind heroine who uses her extraordinary hearing and razor-sharp wits to unravel the mysteries of an abandoned estate that haunts her dreams.
After months of research, she discovers an abandoned mansion in Gloucester, MA. Once there, Cassie finds that Echo Bluff is worse than her nightmares. A ghastly Presence has tormented its inhabitants over generations, and it now hunts Cassie. She must solve the estate’s mysteries or become one of its victims.
While it does certainly look and sound interesting, I don’t know if this is something I would personally play. I panic enough as is when playing a game that has poor lighting. Do I really want to subject myself to something that has limited vision for like 90% of the game? NOPENOPENOPE!
With around two days left to go, Perception has raised (at time of writing) $144,775 of its $150,000 goal. I’m pretty sure it’ll raise the outstanding $6000 over the next couple of hours. I doubt any of the following stretch goals will be met though:
V.R Support? Thank God that goal was never met! As it stands now, Perception will only get a PC release. If it does well, perhaps we will see it make its way to consoles too at a later stage.
Are you excited for the game? Were you one of the backers?

Backed it this morning actually. There was a shout-out from the guys behind We Happy Few that reminded me of it.
