I’ve been jamming some DriveClub lately, and I do quite like it. It’s solid, has that Project Gotham Racing DNA inside of it and actually encourages cleaner driving. It’s also more barren than my inbox that I set aside for replies from various dating sites, thanks to the online side of the game being hobbled by various server issues. The latest patch however, should sort that out though. Hopefully.
DriveClub developer Evolution Studios has added another update to the multiplayer side of the game, which according to their FaceBook page will help populate the game:
As more servers come online and regular server updates are rolling out we are steadily improving connectivity for everybody. Improving server performance is taking time, which is frustrating for all of us, but please understand that we are doing everything we can to get all aspects of online play up and running smoothly as quickly as possible.
We’ve also made changes today in Multiplayer to ensure that there are more events available to you, and that you have more variety when you choose to race with and against other drivers online. We will keep you up to date as we improve server performance for all aspects of online play. Thank you again for your support while this work continues.
The game has most definitely improved over the last couple of days, but there’s always room for more such upgrades. PS Plus gamers on the other hand, still don’t have any access to the free version of the game whatsoever. Which by now is honestly staggering for a driving game that was billed as being the social experience of the year, to have launched in such a sorry state.

More social… I just read that as more stable… no idea why.

I’m not so sure if it’s a good idea to be putting resources in to fleshing out the MP experience without first sorting out the server issues. But that’s just my take.
Still it’s good to see that they want to make the MP more expansive

Yeah, I also got the whole Project Gotham feel when playing it. Its a solid game. I managed a online race last night. But the Multilayer is still sketchy. I also cant access the challenges set by other players. It would be a really awesome game if the single player content was more substantial.

Try and try again is the moral here I guess

They cannot handle more social, they don’t have the power of THE CLOUDZ!
