Grand Theft Auto has always been about more than just getting brutal refunds from hookers and seeing just how many virtual cops you can take on before the law busts your ass. It’s been all about the cars. Hell, that’s the name of the damn game. And the cars in GTA V are looking pretty sexy so far.
Straight from the GTA V website comes this little nugget of a teaser. The cars in that game are looking great, but I am hoping beyond hope that the driving physics will be much better in GTA V.
I hated driving around in GTA IV. The cars felt terrible, the brakes always locked up and I couldn’t even travel in a straight line with doing a flip over a school bus. But most of all, I want to see my favourite car in the entire franchise.
I want to hop into a Sentinel, and hit the road. There better be a damn Sentinel car in this game Rockstar. Or else…I’ll probably write ineffectual slurs or something.

GTA’s driving physics are far better than Saint’s Row and all I want is my Vice City Sabre Turbo and I’ll be stoked!

I bought Saints Row 3 because so many people shot me down in flames and said how great the game was, the first mission was sad and the driving sucks balls and the cars look like crap….Sure i might be wrong and the game does get good but from what I seen now Gta is the king of Open world and I am sure this will be well worth the wait….

I played the first SR extensively but have always hated the vehicle physics. Tried the 3rd title and got a few laughs early on but lost interest the moment I had to start driving the vehicles. I am a huge GTA fan though and have been playing them since the very first title.

The first and second SR were good, after that they have kinda taken some really bad turns.

Well, when it comes to ‘fake’ cars like these, it could be any of the two. The Tesla roadster is built on an Elise platform and then this car is based on the Tesla, so they’re both children of the Elise.

“I couldn’t even travel in a straight line with doing a flip over a school bus”
Darryn – were you drinking when you were playing GTAIV? You know you were supposed to get your character drunk in-game, not actually drink yourself into a stupor? 😉
The more I read about GTAV, the more I can’t wait to get started… Makes me wanna fire up GTAIV again! I just wanna enjoy the world and get stuck into the storyline. To online play, I say “You sit in the corner and wait your damn turn!”

I actually liked GTA IV driving physics, took a bit of getting used to though

I liked them too. People say it was too difficult and the cars were too lofty, but I liked that. It felt realistic the way the cars swayed and got loose over different terrain. There was something cool about feeling like you mastered something difficult. I hope GTA V isn’t too arcade like. Anyways, I can’t wait for this fucking game to come out!

Hope it really isn’t gonna be like in Midnight Club LA for physics wise either, cars were too stiff! GTA IV was perfection.

Yeah I like the physics also…not sure what Darryn’s referring to myself, I had no problems at all blazing from point A to B. The realism/handling of the cars took a dramatic leap from San Andreas to IV, so I’m hoping they continue that in V. I mean, it was fun to be able to literally ride up the corners of walls on a bike in San Andreas, but….completely unnecessary lol.

Actually You just have to drive like you do in real life ie. breaking and slowing down around corners. The driving and physics in GTA IV were better than they’ve been in any GTA. This article is terrible and the writer is a moron.

Actually, CVG – GTA 5’oclock (who has been to Rockstar and tested the game themselves) stated that the driving mechanics is similar to GTA 4. In other words, Driving mechanics have ‘hardly’ changed.
Look it up yourself what he says. Go to Youtubes hompage then on the address bar just after the / cut and paste this.
watch?v=KlapkZiKGUY
At the 42:39 mark the guy states and I quote.
“It’s, It was similar to what you’ve seen in GTA 4 in terms of the driving but maybe looked a bit more heavier a bit more realistic”
The demo they had was apparently a ‘looking at only’ but we’ve all seen glimpses of the driving and considering they’ve had a closer look and say same thing just confirms the other gameplay vid where it does look similar to GTA 4 driving mechanics.
They better change this cause GTA 4 driving was shit.
