This is the most amazing tech demo I’ve ever seen

When it comes to tech demo’s we’re normally shown a bunch of flashing lights and bouncing reflections to ooh and aah over but generally they are nothing more than fancy light shows, remember Epic’s block of meat?

But then you get the other side which seems to be dominated by one single company. Do you remember Quantic Dreams casting video for Heavy Rain? Well that same company has just gone better… much better

Project Kara is being publicised as a tech demo and not a game of any sort, I personally hope they will change that tune and make a game following this story line as in its 7 minutes it’s managed to capture more heart, emotion and tension than virtually any movie I’ve seen in the last 10 years.

You’re going to want to watch this one with some clear sound to hear the emotion and pay special attention to the facial and body movements as the entire tech demo is down to the realism of the characters and how the motion, voice and face are all being captured in a single motion.

You can read a lot more about the technology over at Eurogamer but right now grab a coffee and watch one of the most incredible video game clips of all time.

Oh and if you’re looking forward to seeing games with this tech in the next generation then you are in luck as this demo was rendered in game on a PS3 in real time… yes they can do it right now on that big black box of power
