That joke always kills me

Who doesn’t love Barry Burton? That lovable oaf hasn’t been seen since Resident Evil 3! The ESRB rating for the upcoming Resident Evil Revelations 2 raised suspicions that he would finally be a playable character. It made sense, because his daughter, Moira, is in the game. This latest trailer now confirms that gamers can step into his bearded role.

Sadly, there is no reference to a Jill Sandwich (missed opportunity, Capcom), but the game is really looking awesome. Here’s the trailer (via Kotaku).

Resident Evil Revelations 2’s second lead character, Barry Burton. Following a lead in the search for his missing daughter Moira, he arrives on ominous shores. Her fate uncertain, either hope or despair await him on the path ahead.

RER2 heralds the long awaited return of the legendary Barry Burton. Having survived the Raccoon City incident, he’s back in the field as a BSAA advisor on a mission to rescue his missing daughter. He is her only hope.

Some people might be put off by the Michael Bay inspired pewpew moments. Between all of that though, it looks like there is a nice thick lather of Resident Evil goodness. I just hope that’s the case.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 will be released as episodic content on Xbox 360 and One, as well as the PlayStation 3 and 4. Thankfully, each instalment won’t be released months apart. The first will be available from the 17th of February, with the others following each week for $6 a pop. Remember, if you’re a PlayStation owner, pre-ordering the game will earn you some extra content. Will you be picking it up? I know I will!

Looks awesome and I’m keen but I’m not liking the episode release, why not just a full game and there you go?
