Halo and Xbox have always gone hand in hand. It has helped to ship consoles in the past, and it probably will in the future as well. I’m just not too sure that this Halo digital download will be the version that Xbox will hype and promote.

Halo: Spartan Assault was the Windows 8 tablet and phone game. Now, it will be coming to Xbox One and Xbox 360. The console versions will be expanded from the mobile version, including a new online co-op mode, Operation Hydra, and tons more weapons, armor and upgrades.

It may not be the Halo that people want, or are waiting for, but it will definitely add to the Xbox library and make some die hard fans very happy. Just check out the trailer and screenshots:

True dat… Would be interesting to take it for a spin. I thought Halo: Wars was a decent RTS on console too – nice change of pace from the FPS.
