E3 2015: Doom Snapmap is going to revolutionise game modding

What I remember most about the 90’s and gaming was proliferation of modding and custom maps in games like Quake and Unreal Tournament.

As time went on the mods became more and more complicated and while the modding scene still exists and thrives it is very imposing for a newcomer to try and break into that.

LittleBigPlanet changed that a few years back with a point and click map design and game modding system that put the power of making games into everyone’s hands but you have to agree there is a huge difference in making a fun kiddies game and making something where the entire goal is to cause havoc and destruction.

Well Bethesda is planning on bringing that ease of map creation and custom gameplay to their new Doom title with a custom game creator called SnapMap.

In SnapMap you will literally be able to drag and drop demons, object and traps around the map and create entirely custom game modes.

Once you are happy with your new creation you will be able to instantly push it out to the entire Doom community to try thanks to the built in community capabilities of Doom.

Doom and SnapMap are coming to the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
