There’s no denying that when it comes to visuals, it’s hard to outshine a PC. Even if a game can present a console title that completely obliterates the final PC version, a quick patch or custom mod can easily turn the tables, as throwing in new textures and lighting effects will always be easier to do so on the home of Windows.

Alan Wake is heading towards PC this year, and much like it’s debut on consoles back in 2010, anticipation is growing for it in leaps and bounds. If you never got a chance to play the original title, and you happen to own a PC that meets Borg-sentience requirements, then you have to give Alan Wake a spin.

It’s a gripping tale that combined brilliant story-telling with a spooky atmosphere and polished gameplay, and also happens to include a number of extras that us regular Xbox gamers had to chip in quite a bit for, for free mind you.

Still not convinced? Then check out these comparison screenshots of the game from PC Gamer, that shows just how far the visuals have evolved. Xbox 360 screenshot first, followed by the enhanced PC version.

I’m feeling quite ashamed of the now antiquated graphics on my Xbox version of Alan Wake. The PC game hits shelves and Steam this month.
