If you’ve been patiently waiting all weekend for your first glimpse at this year’s Call of Duty entry, then this evening is for you. Activision has ceremoniously unveiled it’s latest blockbuster entry into the long running franchise, helmed by crowd favourites Treyarch. Thing is: I thought we played Advanced Warfare last year?
Sticking with the ominous teaser earlier this week, the trailer for Black Ops III introduces us to a future setting where soldiers have essentially become the weapons governments guide. That means lots of weird augmentations for you to presumably play with off and online. Things like remote drone control, enhanced deployables and HOLY CRAP THAT GUY’S ARM TURNED INTO A MINIGUN!
With the release of the trailer also comes confirmation of some previous leaks. Yes, Black Ops III will launch on November 6th, and yes you’ll gain beta access on Xbox One, PS4 and PC if you pre-order. The date for this beta is yet unknown, but you can glance over the minimum PC requirements in the meantime.
- OS: 64-bit Windows 7, 8, and 8.1
- CPU: Intel Core i3-530 2.93 GHz / AMD Phenom II X4 810 2.60 GHz
- System RAM: 6GB
- Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 470 1GB / ATi Radeon HD 6970 1GB
- Hard Drive Space: TBA
- DirectX11
Personally, I’m not seeing enough of a difference here from Advanced Warfare last year, which itself dabbled into ideas of soldiers becoming controllable weapons for higher governmental powers to play around with. If anything, a lot of the new toys look fun to use, but Treyarch has a bit of work to do establishing their unique direction with this sequel – and how it’s actually connecting to the rest of Black Ops.
Or, maybe they don’t. It’s not like Call of Duty is suddenly going to stop selling millions, right?

Is it just me cause I’m not even slightly excited for this game. Nothing I see makes me wow. The graphics looks outdated. I think it’s because I play GTA 5 now and that game is just WOW. Playing online with Clan mates makes it 10x better than COD.

Yes oomjan I’m one of those humans that enjoys the game, love it that they revealed with gameplay and not CGI like so many other publishers do.

Using Paint it Black as the trailer song is like giving someone ignorant a vacation to Somalia. Everything sounds good till you get there.
