Destiny, according to those who constantly defend it, is all about its potential – not what’s really in the game right now. Its perpetual grind, asinine narrative and rinse-and-repeat mission structure are all offset by the potential its future content can bring. A recent bug in the game has allowed a sneak peak in to what future content will bring – and it brings with it great potential. For more of the same, really.
Don’t get me wrong; I rather enjoy the heck out of Destiny. It’s a darned good time and I plan on playing the heck out of its strikes for months to come. That said, it’s difficult not to see its faults.
Here’s the video from YouTuber Kinsey_92 , showing the bug that locked players out of the tower, but also gave a glimpse of the future.
For those of you who’re averse to videos, or just don’t have the time to watch a cursor floating about on a screen, here’s what you can expect in the upcoming Destiny content, which is all part of its expansion pass.
Earth
- Strike [Level 10] – The Jovian Complex: A new Hive brood gathers it’s strength beneath the cosmodrome. Find their master and purge them all.
- Story Mission [Level 18] – The Veil Lifted: Root out the Hive beneath the Cosmodrome and discover a long-hidden secret of the Golden Age.
- Story Mission [Level 18] – The Seeding: Investigate the return of ancient Hive Wizards, preparing Earth for Crota’s reign.
- Story Mission [Level 20] – Gone to Ground: Find a Wolves baron and his conspirators who have betrayed the Queen and are hiding in the Cosmodrone.
Moon
- Strike [Level 14] – The House of Wolves: No description
- Strike [Level 26] – The Summoning Pits: Xyor, the Unwed awaits your arrival at the bottom of the Hellmouth (part of an exotic bounty not new expansion content. Thanks to /u/The7ruth)
- RAID [Level 28] – Crota’s End: He waits in the dark below
- Story Mission [Level 20] – The Wakening: Stop the Hive from summoning Crota and consuming our worlds.
Venus
- Story Mission [Level 20] – Wolves’ Harvest: Track down the Queen’s traitorous Wolves and recover what they’ve stolen from the Awoken.
- Story Mission [Level 22] – The Citadel: Ascend to the top of the Vex stronghold on Venus and assassinate the Wolves’ Kell
Mars
- Strike [Level 20] – The Hypogeum: The ressurection of the Black Garden has begun. Stop the Vex before the Garden’s heart beats again.
Reef
- RAID [Level 28] – Reef Raid: No Description
Crucible
- Skirmish [Special Event?] – Only the worthy may face the Trials of Osiris for only the worthy are strong enough to endure what is to come.
I really, really hope Bungie’s taken the criticism and put a little more effort in to the game’s narrative and mission structure for its add on content. If I’m forced to listen to Peter Dinklage deliver poorly written dialogue in monotone as he hacks yet another computer or door as waves of enemies spawn, I may be forced to eat my own face.

The Queen’s Wrath missions were the best way to get legendaries and ascendant shards and energies – and then Bungie f*cked us all in the collective eye, by patching out the ascendant shards (from those legendaries). Thereby, taking whatever desire I might have to help my lesser levelled buddies to go through the same fucking mission, again.. and again.. and again….
I couldn’t care less about the loot cave. Who in their right mind would shoot at a cave for hours at an end? Honestly, who in their right minds? Go play Candy Crush, or Sims 4, you ridiculous fools!!
I really hope they get their act together, because while I still enjoy rocking this game with my online buddies, I just can’t help but feel that Bungactivision ripped out chunks of the game to artificially inflate their expansion packs. Just look at all that content THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE BASE GAME!!! This is absolutely disgusting from Activision and Bungie (no seriously fuck them both).
Additional Banana peel – Guys, I’m no longer pre-ordering anything. F*Ck that practice! (OG BANANA). I was going to pre-order Shadow of Mordor, but I’m rather going to wait and see what the community say.

I’m almost Vanguard rank 2. My plan is then to buy all the legendary armor I can and dismantle the shit out of it for shard. Also I spent almost all my motes of light on Xur and he drops a exotic helm for a Warlock class, problem is I’m a Titan. WTF!

Loving your comments Banana, lov em. My thoughts are exactly the same. Far too often do developers take base game content and add it to expansion packs as an additional purchase. I do enjoy Destiny, I do, but FFS how many times must I do the same repetitive shit. Plus now by Wednesday I have nothing left to do. My Vanguard 100 point cap is done. Yes there is raid armor, but thanks to Bungee, I got fuckall for doing the raid of glass, well except for a color skin.

I just want some ascendant shards to upgrade my armor. Plus I have to wait until the weekend for Nux or whatever to come back so I can continue my exotic bounty. Tell you what though. The honey moon period is over. I will still log in for daily missions and rewards but as soon as October hits and AAA season starts my Destiny will change from grinding to playing something new.

I might be missing after Shadow of Mordor hits (if that game can deliver and pluck me out of my gamer depression then I’ll be a happy chappy again). Destiny has been a massive disappointment. Thing is they’ve built this insane world and the grimoires contain amazing lore… and yet you have to wonder, why the FUCK is that not in the game.
Take one bit of lore: The vandals- You know most of them have 4 arms, but every once in a while there’s a dude with only two arms, who rush you with their swords. Why? Well… those guys had their arms amputated because they dishonoured their Kell, and thus they try extra hard to regain their honour.
