Activision comes to the party with COD cross buy

One of the most frustrating things about the changing of console generations is that you know you are going to be getting one of those fancy new consoles soon but you can’t quite stretch the budget just yet. However your favourite game is coming out and you don’t want to be left with the lesser version in a few months.

While before the publishers used their top titles to entice you into the next generation it appears that things are being handled differently this time around.

Activision has announced that if you buy Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare for the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 then you will have until the end of March next year to upgrade to the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version.

This free upgrade will also apply to any DLC that you may have purchased but unfortunately is only applicable to digital versions purchased. This is obviously to negate people upgrading and then taking their physical copies into the store and trading them.

However if you are a multi-console gamer family this does mean you can end up with two copies of the game as the old version on your last gen console will still be entirely playable so your little brother or sister can hang around on the pixellated older gen version while you bask in the glory of next gen super powers.

But don’t feel bad PC gamers, you can also upgrade your experience by upgrading your graphics card to an Asus 970 GTX, unfortunately Activision won’t be covering that cost for you.

Oh and if you missed it don’t forget to watch Alessandro interview the strongest man in videogame entertainment, Glen Schofield.

That man looks like he could snap Sandy with his little finger.
