COD Ghosts for XBOX microsoft

Telkom’s DGL already has some awesome sponsors. The Dota league winners are getting some awesome goodies, as are players across a variety of games. Now Xbox South Africa is jumping into the Call of Duty sponsorship, and it might just make you kick yourself for not getting involved sooner.

The Winter Leg is basically over – Premier playoffs are almost over and then players will know who will be heading to the DGC to fight for the top prizes. Normally, I’d say you should go register, but you just can’t anymore for this year’s tournament. But this might just encourage you to get your buddies together to try to compete next year.

Call of Duty: Ghosts on Xbox has gotten some good response at the DGL. Now Xbox South Africa is jumping on board with a very generous sponsorship. They will be giving away four Xbox One consoles to the winners of the championships, as well as a cash prize of R10k to be split between the top three teams as follows:

  1. 4 x Xbox One consoles and R5,000 in cash
  2. R3,000 in cash
  3. R2,000 in cash

In addition, Xbox South Africa will be supplying the Xbox 360s needed for the competition, meaning that gamers can travel a little lighter to the DGC – they only need to bring their controllers if they’re so inclined as everything else will be provided.

I’m happy to see local Xbox getting involved with eSports. It’s a big deal overseas, and this is the kind of support that will help it to grow. Maybe this will even help us do better at the COD Championships next year.

Reading a few websites and listening to a few podcasts and many are saying new COD appears good – at least the multiplayer anyway. Not sure how that would be a surprise given its multiplayer genes (one would expect it to be). Maybe Sledgehammer bringing something new to the table?

Last COD game I actively played was COD2 – yes WWII one!

I noticed Xbox is taking a liking towards eSports.
Take a look at Call Of Duty… Heck, before that was Halo. And Halo is making a comeback this year and the next.
Not to forget Evolve recently trying to get a stab at it, with Xbox as its main console.
