Yesterday we posted about Nintendo incredibly selling 500 000 Wii’s in one day on Black Friday, well Microsoft has now released figures that have blown that out of the water.
During Black Friday week Microsoft managed to sell 960 000 Xbox 360’s. That’s the best sales the Xbox 360 has ever recorded in a single week and 800 000 of those were sold on Black Friday alone.
But that’s not all, they also announced that they’ve sold 760 000 Kinects (stand alone or bundled) in the past week.
This should seal their eleventh straight month as the leading console seller in the United States and with some decent bundles coming up next month they could well secure the full year which is quite an achievement against the previously formidable Wii and the world dominating PS3.
Unfortunately Sony hasn’t released it’s sales figures for the Black Friday madness but it’s safe to say it’s less than Xbox (otherwise they would be shouting about it) and likely less than the Wii as well.
Thankfully you don’t need to dominate America to win and Sony are still looking likely to take second spot from the Xbox 360 any week now.
