SaveTheBoobies

I’m just going to go ahead and file this is in the fantastic ideas of the year folder.

All the game publishers and developers have one thing in common and that is that they dislike second hand game sales as they don’t get a cut from the action and feel that it’s unfair that retailer can profit on their product without handing over a piece of the pie.

I believe that is ridiculous as they received their share when the game was originally purchased and asking to be paid twice for the same game isn’t fair. It’s not like Suzuki is going to get paid when I finally dump the piece of rubbish on someone else… anyway where was I? oh yeah… boobies.

What EA have done to counteract second hand sales and to try and convince you to buy the game new is to include a code in the box which when entered will check with the servers if it hasn’t been used and if not will then unlock a whole pile of boobies and some extra hiding spots in the city.

However if you buy the game second hand you will still get a fully functional title just missing a few of those boobies. I personally think this is a great way to motivate new sales over second hand and as long as we as a community ensure that they never release a game that is gimped without the code I will be happy.

EA is sure getting smart on countering Piracy i mean look at Sims 3, you get all kinds of freebies, when buying a legitimate copy.

Wont be long and we’ll get like free expansions with it. Now that will rock my world

and it’s EA, so they won’t take the fucking codes out of the box like MS does. Let’s hope they don’t go and say “this content is not supported in your region” when you try and redeem the code.

Imagine builders got pissed off every time someone bought a 2nd hand house. The reason people buy games 2nd hand is because they are damn expensive. I wanted to buy this game when it came out, but I think I’m going to purposely buy this game second hand now. It might kind of be a matter of cutting off my nose to spite my face, but at least I find some consolation in the fact that I’m doing my little bit to stick it to the man.
