There’s another reason to get Dragon’s Dogma Getting There

DragonsDogma

Dragon’s Dogma is an upcoming open-world, class-based  fantasy action-adventure from Capcom – and though it’s not on many gamers’ radars at the moment, it really should be. Coming in May , it’s the brainchild of Hideaki Itsuno, the guy who’s been behind Devil May Cry since the second one, and also brought you Capcom vs SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium and Rival Schools. It’s got a pretty interesting fighting mechanic, in that you can grab on to the giant, mythological beasts (like Griffins, Chimera, Dragons and Minotaur) – drawing a few fair comparisons to Shadow of the Colossus.

I had a brief hands on with the game at E3 last year, and it’s shaping up to be a pretty amazing experience, sort of like Monster Hunter for more western tastes – but there’s another reason to get the game.

Every new, retail copy of Dragon’s Dogma will include a token allowing early access to the Resident Evil 6 demo! Xbox 360 owners will be able to download the demo on July 3 – a whole two months before it becomes available for PlayStation 3 players. Maybe this is Capcom’s way of making it up to 360 gamers for not having extra characters in Street Fighter x Tekken. Whatever the cause, it means that those who prefer to play on Microsoft’s console will be trying out Resident Evil 6 before everybody else.

It’s not exactly the first time a publishers shoed in early access to a game to increase sales of a new game that might otherwise go unnoticed. It certainly worked well enough for Crackdown.

Capcom’s also released a new story trailer for Dragon’s Dogma – and it might just get you interested in the game for reasons other than Zombie killing.

Hope this game turns out well. Sadly the demo at rAge was really stilted and bland.

haha this is gonna be another DLC fest for Capcom…
Pretty sure its also hack ‘n Slash? Any gameplay vids out for it?

    • T-wholf

Ah U actually play Devil May Cry??? far from a hack and slash!! the fighting style is like no other game as its very complex…. your fighting style is rated on variation and timing of skill moves and is very difficult to perfect …. Played Devil May Cry 4 and its an awsom game!! will check this out

Ew. It looks like someone read too many bad fantasy books, with scantily clad females holding on to equally nude muscle men, wacked off over Lord of the Rings, while strangling himself on his some yarn worn by Yoda.
