The entire GTA V map has been pieced together

According to a report on stickskills Rockstar Games have slowly been revealing pieces of the GTA V map of Los Santos over the past while. And an anonymous internet citizen has pieced them all together to bring us the first full map for Grand Theft Auto V.

Since it’s not the officially endorsed map we can’t be 100% sure of it’s accuracy but seeing that it’s made from snippets released officially I can’t see it being that far off.

So what do you think? Have they divulged too far from the original Los Santos map or is the added size an exciting thing?

I have to admit the size of the map does worry me; I don’t have much of a concentration span and I can’t imagine having to drive over those mountains every second side quest.

Mind you I feel more sorry for the PC gamers who have to sit behind a screen instead of on the couch while crisscrossing this map. What you didn’t know GTA V was coming to the PC? Well Rockstar haven’t yet announced anything but it looks like E3 may have accidently let the cat out of the bag.

Granted it could just be a slip of the fingers but I would not be the least bit surprised to see GTA V land on PC’s before the end of the year.

    GTA V BABY!!!

“Mind you I feel more sorry for the PC gamers who have to sit behind a screen instead of on the couch”

Lucky I have my PC attached to my TV screen so at least that’s not going to be a problem.

That does look like one really big map though 0_o

    • Walker Moore

Indeed. I built a HTPC for the TV a few months ago. It boots straight into Steam Big Picture Mode, plays all games at 1080p and is controlled exclusively with an X-Box 360 wireless controller. Gaming on my PS3 feels like a journey into yesteryear by comparison.

Hardly an unusual setup thesedays either.

      • Sir Rants-a-Lot Llew

I still need to take the plunge with a controller. I really do prefer my keyboard and mouse (wireless FTW)

        • Andre116

Back when I was PC gamer, I used to have a controller as well. The last GTA I played I used the controller for flying and driving. Made a hell of a difference. Especially with some of the flying stuff. With the keyboard it was just full tilt up or down.

          • Walker Moore

All the GTA games are a double edged sword as far as keyboards and controllers are concerned. Running around shooting things is far superior with keyboard and mouse (a controller puts you at a disadvantage in PC multiplayer) but driving and flying without analog sticks is just terrible.

          • Sir Rants-a-Lot Llew

I will be getting a controller so I can jam Mortal Kombat on my PC though :)

        • Walker Moore

When I’m in front of my living room TV, I prefer the controller.

When I’m in front of my computer screen, mouse and keyboard. ;)

  • Hammersteyn

    Slip of the fingers, guaranteed.

  • BMXWufam

“Rockstar’s epic murder and carstealing sim” and we wonder why gaming has a bad rep?

  • Hammersteyn

I can’t find the golf course I saw in the trailer on the map! Gta golf FTW

    • http://marcus-trettin.de/ Joe Bold

It’s there. East, South-East of San-Andreas. The shape of the holes is hard to see, but it is there.

  • Rinceandspit…

Awesome! Looking forward to this R800 baby… Gotta PAY if you want a decent game these days…

    • Hammersteyn

I will pay it gladly. Unlike yearly releases GTA always delivers an new story, locations and characters while keeping the game style the same. Yearly releases only dilutes a franchise.

  • Admiral Chief Commander

Well, my gaming lair has super comfy seat and setup, so, no

  • Admiral Chief Commander

That Los Santos map sure brings back some good memories!

*rounds up gang to go do a driveby*

    • Hammersteyn

I never did driveby, did more like a drive over.

      • Admiral Chief Commander

WHAT? And dent mah chrome??? Nooit gansta, nooit.

        Shoot them rather

        :P

      • mancera

nothing like a drive over using your low-rider with crazy suspension.

        • Admiral Chief Commander

          …bounce bounce bounce…

          • mancera

i always used to flip my car over because I wanted to see how far I could push my car on that suspension… not a good thing while racing down a road flat out hehehe

  • Umar Kiiroi Senk?

    Fast Travel? Hope so

    • Hammersteyn

GTA IV had it. You used a taxi in that game.

      • mancera

        I never used it :P

        • Hammersteyn

Agreed, I’d rather steal the taxi :)

          • Admiral Chief Commander

            XD

    • mancera

It’s called getting a plane, chopper, or fast car :P

Fast travel in a GTA game would kill it… personal opinion. (Even tho GTAIV has it… as Deon said.)

      • Umar Kiiroi Senk?

Wouldn’t really kill it to have the option, some times I am insanely lazy. But I get what you mean though, you have to explore the world :)

        • Admiral Chief Commander

Maybe only fast travel once you explored there first?

          • Umar Kiiroi Senk?

Indeed, as with all fast travel systems, can only warp to places you visited. if it wasn’t like that , that would really kill the game

      • Hermann Schwindt

I played GTA IV one and a half times. The 1st time I played it I didn’t use fast travel and got really bored of travelling and didn’t complete it. The second time I gave it a go I used fast travel and it took a lot of time completing all 80 odd missions, but still finished the game all in all :)

        • mancera

Each to their own I guess, I don’t like using the fast travel systems on most games, I have no idea why.

GTA IV is the only GTA game I haven’t finished to 100%… I think it’s because Niko bugs me for some reason.

  • ElimiNathan

Got my PC wireless remote receiver for my Xbox controller this weekend, PC is now using the TV permanently. Its game on

  • Rudi

Seeing the San Andreas map wants me to play that again!

    • mancera

      agreed

      • Admiral Chief Commander

        Same here man….but DAT XCOM….

        • mancera

I found my copy of the original Carmageddon… got it running over the weekend and lost a few manic hours yesterday lol

          • Rudi

Carmageddon is on the iPad and Android too, huge amounts of fun!

          • Admiral Chief Commander

            ON TEH DROID????

            Nice, very nice!

          • mancera

yeah I picked it up last week… sad thing is that it looks better on my phone than on my pc lmao

          • Admiral Chief Commander

            *busy downloading*

(Oh, and by the way, only you and I managed this achievement last week)

          • Admiral Chief Commander

Carmageddon is one of my all time favourites!

  • Isaac Clarke

Looks a little small…dont you think? About halfway in the page you see the maps goes missing… dont trust this one. NOPE.

    • Rudi

And the two top right towns look exactly the same……

      • Admiral Chief Commander

I see it too! You might be on to something Rudi

        • Rudi

My sleuthing abilities are improving it would seem…. interested….

    • Rudi

And the two top left towns look exactly the same…….

      • Admiral Chief Commander

        I SEE IT!!!

        • http://marcus-trettin.de/ Joe Bold

There are many, many more assets in that map that look completly the same.

So don’t trust this one, as the size of that is almost equal the same size of the old San Andreas but it should be way bigger if we shall trust the plublic announcements done by Rockstar.

    • mancera

Also the part of north Los Santos is missing.

  • Tbone187

So a pc original title decides to shaft the pc users in favour of these console minions…hmmm…

    • mancera

GTA wasn’t exclusive to the PC, but then Rockstar sold their souls to Sony for a while so the Playstation could get the initial releases, then M$ got hold of their souls too and the PC gamers suffered for it.

I remember having to wait months for San Andreas on the PC to be released after all my friends with consoles had it already.

      • Tbone187

Gta was a dos made game for pc initially. Way before San Andreas…

        • mancera

was before rockstar sold their souls to whoever would take them

          • Tbone187

            …true dat!

  • Daniel Gillis

I wonder if that island to the left is Rockstars verision of Alcatraz Island

  • SC13

Sorry but this map is definitely fake, can you guys not see where parts have been copy and pasted? Plus the only bit revealed so far is the main south part of the map with Los Santos

  • heli

fake. the patterns of the roads are exactly the same.

  • StandardFuckery

I’m just waiting for the real map by going to the pause menu and discovering it here. Fans can create as many versions as they want, the Mapping Los Santos project is utterly pointless when we’ll find out the real map anyway when it’s released!!! Which isn’t long. Rockstar are too good at generating a buzz.
