Splinter Cell Blacklist has been delayed

Sad Sam Fisher

Been looking forward to exercising your fifth freedom on the faces of assorted criminals and terrorists in Splinter Cell: Blacklist? Well bad news Fisher wannabes, because the autumn release date for that game has been dealt a blow with extreme prejudice.

While it was generally expected to arrive in the April to May window, Splinter Cell Blacklist will instead ship out on August 20 this year according to a new trailer via IGN. It’ll come with some yet to be declassified pre-order content as is the normal operating procedure for all Ubisoft games, and will hit Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC platforms.

There’s no official reason yet as to why the game is shipping a few months later, but perhaps some intel about a certain GTA V being on the scene in that same time period is reason enough to scale back operations.
