Spike TV VGA's Nominations

Unless I am mistaken all the major games have now been released (with the exception of Prince of Persia) and as such we can start really looking at who is in the running for Game of the Year on the Xbox 360, Wii and PS3.

First up we have the 360 and this year the VGA panel has nominated Gears of War 2, Fallout 3, Fable 2 and Grand Theft Auto IV. If I was part of the voting panel I think I would be leaning towards Fallout 3 or Gears 2. Even though I felt Gears was lacking in many departments.

The PS3 list consists of Metal Gear Solid 4, GTA IV, LittleBigPlanet and Resistance 2. My gut says LBP should get it but to be fair it isn’t doing well enough in my opinion to deserve the crown so then I would hand it to Grand Theft Auto IV.

On the Wii front we have Super Smash Bros Brawl, Boom Blox, Wii Fit and no more heroes… This one is simple and it has to go to Wii Fit. The game is selling like hotcakes and it’s completely innovative.

So do you think the nominations are fair or should they have added something really entertaining like Battlefield Bad Company or even Braid to that list?

Gears 2 was a bit disappointing but on my second playthough now and it seems alot better for some reason. The multiplayer bots are still pathetic though. . .

No way in hells name that GTA deserves the award over MGS4 on the PS3 side.

GTA shouldnt even be there at all… but thats just my feeling
They should put Fallout 3 there instead.

Yeah I would agree. I thought GTA was incredibly boring. I’d take it off the 360 list too and replace it with Dead Space. That game is incredibly well done.

I haven’t played Fallout yet but if I had to pick from the rest of the list I’d pick Fable 2. Gears 2 was AWESOME but I have been unable to put Fable down for the last week or so. It’s simply fantastic.
