Spider-Man won’t be swinging to the Xbox One

The new Amazing Spider-Man 2 videogame is coming soon, though it looks pretty much anything but amazing at the moment. Still, it’s always fun to swing about as Spider-Man – but it looks like Xbox One owners may have to sit this one out.  All mentions of the Xbox One version of the game have been excised from the game’s official site.

Activision’s confirmed the game has been delayed for the Bone – but it may be delayed indefinitely.

“We want to inform you that we are revising our release plans for ASM2 on Xbox One,”  Activision confirmed. “When and whether ASM2 is released on Xbox One is TBD.”

Honestly, it’s not as if anything of value to anyone has been lost, but it’s exclusion is certainly odd. Even the Wii U is getting a version of the game. some are saying it’s because the film is released by Sony Pictures – but that’s frankly stupid; the Xbox 360, 3DS and Wii U versions are still on track.

Why you suppose it is that Beenox, an Activision-owned company with a fair bit of budget has canned the Xbox One version of the game? I can only assume the reason is technical; some sort of odd bug the developers just can’t get around on the Xbox One version. I highly doubt it’s because the Xbox One isn’t up to the task.

As it is though, it seems resolutiongate is back. The PlayStation 4 version will render at 1080p, the Xbox One at a much lower nothing. The game is out in May on everything but the Xbox One and the Vita.

That’s a real pity, I wonder if it’s esram related? :/ Hopefully with DX12, devs can finally help the boner shine.

According the Beenox website, the game is still listed as an XBOX One title.

Just a heads up, the Xbox One version is available for sale on the American Xbox One marketplace with a release date of 29/4/2014.
