[Update] Unfortunately this data is stale, I just had a chat with the guys from X3G and apparently the API they use is borked and therefore this data is pre-MW2 and not to be trust… which kinda kills this story dead.

It’s been around a month since we last posted up the local Xbox Live stats and in that time there has been very little that has changed.

Modern Warfare 2 is still to new to have made enough of a dent which means that the table really hasn’t changed that much in the last month.

Gears 2 has retaken it’s top spot and GTA IV has been revitalised.

The number in brackets is where the same title was last month if it featured in the top 10.

 Title
1Gears of War 2 (2)
2Call of Duty 4 (*)
3Halo 3: ODST (3)
4GTA IV (*)
5Gears of War (*)
6COD World at War (4)
7Forza 2 (*)
8Fable 2 (*)
9Far Cry 2 (*)
10Resident Evil 5(*)

As mentioned before these charts are only calculated on local members of X3G.co.za so if you haven’t registered head on over now and do your part for the local community.

Hmmm, interesting that MW2 did not even make top 10.

Just a typo, ‘to’ should be ‘too’

    • WitWolfyZA

Well do you know a lot of ppl that are prepared to pay R700 for a game.. definitely not me.

      • Bucket

Well, I don’t know many personally. But I do know that the game has been recorded as the largest entertainment media launch in history, and it sold over 8 million copies around the world.

So I would assume that it would have made an entrance to the top ten, if not the top 5.

Were these figures maybe taken from October?

  • BobbyKotickandyourmum

I’m just waiting for the mass ban of users from non-supported xbox live countries.

    • http://www.designwave.co.za Nick de Bruyne

I dont know if MS would ever do that, why if they dont support other regions but all those people are still willing to throw subscription money at them… its sad actually

  • BobbyKotickjustateabiscuit

You’re probably right, it does add to the global tally of Live subscriptions, and it is definitely money in the pocket without having to bother with setting up localized content in those areas.
