Sodium Overload 2 is coming. Hide your children.

Salt

Gethype’s last fighting game tournament, Sodium Overload, is set to return – bigger and badder than ever. Set to take place on May 5th (so save the date!), once again at the Brightwater Commons in Randburg, Sodium Overload will bring the country’s best fighting game champions together in a series of double elimination tournaments. There’ll be three tournaments that day:

  • Soul Calibur 5
  • Tekken 6
  • Street Fighter X Tekken

Furthermore, there’s going to be an exhibition match pitting 5 of Joburg’s best Tekken players again 5 of Cape Town’s. Once again, there’ll be all manner of prizes; AWX vouchers, Fightsticks, Lord Prawn Vouchers, 6 copies of EA’s SSX – and of course, bags of salt. Keep an eye on Gethype.co.za for details and registrations – and check out the slick video after the jump.

I'm old, grumpy and more than just a little cynical. One day, I found myself in possession of a NES, and a copy of Super Mario Bros 3. It was that game that made me realise that games were more than just toys to idly while away time - they were capable of being masterpieces. I'm here now, looking for more of those masterpieces.
