So when is Darksiders II coming, exactly?

Death

I rather enjoyed Darksiders. It had its problems, and was accused of being derivative, but  I loved playing a more grown-up Zelda-styled game. Naturally, I’ve been looking forward to to its sequel featuring Death (that’s with a capital “D”) instead of War – and was more than a little bummed when THQ announced that it would be delayed.

Originally scheduled to release next month, THQ later said the game would be out on August 21 this year. Soon afterwards, they retracted that , saying it’ll be out when it’s done. With THQ’s financial woes they need a hit – and Darksiders II could be it.

So when it’s coming?

“We look forward to launching Darksiders [2] beginning on August 14 in North America,” THQ’s CEO Brian Farrell announced during the same investor call that saw Devil’s third canned. According to Farrell, the delay was the result of THQ’s “demonstration of our commitment to quality.” Furthermore, talks with retailers lead them to believe August would make for a better launch period.

So there you go, fans. Darksiders II will be available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC simultaneously, on August 14 in the Us, which means a likely local release on August 17. Maybe.

Here’s the game’s trailer again, in case you’ve forgotten all about Darksiders II.
