[Updated] Skyrim on the Xbox 360 is low res without an install Flame On
   November 8th, 2011 clock image 7:45 am

SkyrimWarrior

[Update] Apologies this article is incorrect, the texture loading issue occurs if the game is installed not the other way around. We were all at a MW3 event yesterday so this mistake went unnoticed. Thanks to the abuse in the comments though, always much appreciated :)

If we find more information we’ll post it up [/Update]

I posted up about the optional Xbox 360 and mandatory PS3 install yesterday but now it seems the story has changed a bit.

While this isn’t the official viewpoint it looks like the Xbox 360 version is basically a low res version if you don’t install and has followed the Battlefield 3 HD res pack idea.

Take a look at these two screenshots from gamersmint, the first showing Skyrim with the optional Xbox 360 install and the second without. Notice the texture issues?

fneaub

Notice the texture on the sword

34xer84

And it’s gone… you can click to zoom in and swap between the two to see this better.

So the answer is simple, if you buy the Xbox 360 version make sure you install it and if you don’t have enough hard drive space then apparently you’re stupid. I’m not quite sure how that logic works but the last time I complained about installs public opinion was that if you bought the 4Gb version then you’re just a moron and deserve what you get.

I personally feel it’s lazy from the developers, they were offered an easy way out and are now abusing it until it can’t walk anymore.

So whats the install size for this on the xbox? Gonna need to push my 20gig to the max….and yes i was one of those fools that bought one…

    • http://www.lazygamer.net Gavin Mannion

I did link to that article, it’s 3.8Gb on the Xbox

      • Flashback

        Gavin.

Fix your ill informed article, now.

The problem arises when you INSTALL the game on your Xbox, not when you run it off the disk. The article is rife with incorrect information. There is no ‘texture’ pack that magically gets installed, like Battlefield and Rage (which are actually the ONLY games to have this on the 360 currently)

There appears to be a problem with streaming textures OFF the HDD, not off the disk. I’m surprised you got it SO WRONG even though EVERY forum post has specified it’s WHEN YOU INSTALL it, not when you run it off the disk.

For simple people; Install MAY decrease texture fidelity/loading. RUNNING OFF THE DISK IS OPTIMAL till Bethesda fix the issue.

        • Alex

What you just said, made NO sense at all. Thats the whole concept on installing games to your HDD, it makes less noise, because it doesn’t need to stream off a disk, and it runs straight from the hard drive. Its alot easier running from saved data, rather than streaming from a spinning CD. Get common sense please.

          • Carpetfluff

No, he’s right. There’s an issue to do with the fact that the game is using the HDD to both load data and cache at the same time that is interfering with some textures loading correctly and you get low-res blurry placeholders instead. This does not occur when playing from disc as the HDD is only being used to cache, not to load from. I know it seem counter-intuitive but that is the issue people are having.

          • Flashback

Of course it doesn’t make sense; That’s why they call it a bug. Read up on it next time.

          • BudaBaker

I remember reading somewhere that when you install the game it actually runs of the CD and the HDD at the same time. So maybe the problem comes from this.

        • Far327

This doesn’t seem logical at all. An HDD will always perform faster than a DVD-ROM. It would make more since to install the game to HDD for faster performance. The game files are in a compression state. That would include texture and mesh files. These files will decompress much fast when read off an HDD. PS3 used much more uncompressed data because of the space available on BluRay, but they still need to install to the HDD for improved textures simply because the data will get read faster.

          • Jake

The writer of this article got it backwards. But we have no way of knowing if that’s only a problem with pirated copies or not. We’ll just have to wait and see.

        • Davidvereker

thank god! I was worried. I have only 4gb space. Even less now since I downloaded San Andreas the other day

        • Guest

Sorry but that isnt true, not completely. Its a random effect. For some if u install it helps, sometimes the opposite. For example, my graphics on my 360 are horrible when running off the disk. I installed it and it helps. For all you people i advise that you compare the diffrence and see which gets h best result.

    • Drlwow

Your not a fool for getting the 4Gig. A very SIMPLE and cost effective solution is a USB drive. toss it into the xbox and dedicate it to one of your usb slots in the back. pretty simple and NOT moronic IMO. I have games installed on em and they run just fine.

Gavin: try not to be so over-opinionated on peoples options and preferences, ya weiner.

      • http://www.lazygamer.net Gavin Mannion

lol sorry you’re not a regular so the inside joke was missed. I’m not really saying people who buy a 4Gb are stupid, in fact I think it’s a great starter console for the average gamer.

The fact that Microsoft is allowing developers to require installs is the problem and that instantly leads to lazy developers and problems for people with the 4Gb.

In my opinion every game should play just as well on the 4Gb as it does any other 360 and if that’s not the case Microsoft should refuse to licence it. They’ve dropped the ball recently and it’s just going to get worse now.

        • uolen

You can point out the fact that people who buy a 4gig 360 and then go online and EASILY buy a 50 dollar slim 250gig or 60 dollar slim 320 gig HDD are in fact SMARTER than people who spent an extra 100 dollars for the same HDD. PS: Flash drives are slower and not as beneficial (BF3 you can not install HD textures to anything but an actual HDD)

      What Makro special?

      • Darran

No, it was a special back in the day when the slim just arrived, Makro had a special on the 4G and I was a moron, as stated by Gavin Mannion…..

Buy a hard drive for the console. It’s like the price of 1 and half games.

        • FoxOneZA

Oh wait…seems like the game will run better of the disc :)

          • Darran

Really? Where did you hear that?

          • Darran

            Nevermind, I just scrolled down……..well, I gues i’m not a total moron?

          • uolen

Does NO ONE go on amazon and search for xbox 360 hard drives? If you so well informed folk did you would notice you can but an xbox360 4gig, 250gb HDD and an extra wireless controller for around $280 total. How much is the xbox360 slim 250g? 4gb buyers are obviously the more intelligent.

  • http://twitter.com/BigJon_V Jonathan van de Wouw

I’ve got a spare 650Gb on my PC if you need it ;) Oh wait….

This is going to look amazing on the PC.  I was just pondering yesterday the difference between Oblivion and Skyrim.  When Oblivion came out, it was considered one of “those games you’re going to have to upgrade your PC for to be able to play”.

At that time, the XBox / PS3 hardware was equivalent to that of a high-specced PC. Over the years, however, PC gamers continued to upgrade while the console owners brayed on about how that was exactly the reason for adopting a console.

Now, however, looking at the current situation (Rage is a prime example), developers tend to aim lower with regards to graphics and enginer-complexity to cater for the larger, console, market and then port up to PC afterwards.  Gone are the days of Minimum Requirements for PC games, with 99.99% of games being released capable of running at least on a PC from 2 generations ago.  The reason for this – developing for consoles.  Perhaps the next generation of consoles would do us all a favour then.

    *steps down off soapbox*

    • http://gevaaalik.com Stix

“Over the years, however, PC gamers continued to upgrade while the console owners brayed on about how that was exactly the reason for adopting a console.” This is very true and keep costing you a fortune. This is why I gave up on PC and moved to console. I love console plainly for the ease of use and no need to upgrade it later.
PC gaming is on the up again, they say (I don’t Know who they are), but it seems that developers are catering mostly for consoles. Sad but true.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jacob-Riley/100000102037314 Jacob Riley

“PC gamers continued to upgrade while the console owners brayed on about how that was exactly the reason for adopting a console”Funny. I thought the reason to own a console was to play more games. Go into any store that sells games, the PC has a shelf while the 360,Wii and PS3 have walls.

Thats the difference. Thats the real reason why PC gamers winge on about graphics..it’s the only thing they have left.

PC gamers can talk and talk as much as they wish. In the meantime i’ll shuffle through my list of games that have never and will never make it to the PC while PC gamers wait for D3 to come out so they can fab to their exclusive.

The PC gaming industry is dying…it’s a slow death but it’s happening.

      • Dunham_lockhart

Ever heard of Steam? PC gaming is getting stronger everyday, it was dying five years ago, and five years before that, everything is a cycle, and when you say any store that sells games, you mean Gamestop, they focus on selling used games, and you can’t sell used PC games, hence the shelf, but digital copies of PC games are huge, just look at steam, It’s making 3 times as much money per customer then xbox live, and without any monthly fees, PC gaming is healthier then it has been in years.

        • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jacob-Riley/100000102037314 Jacob Riley

No. Stores like Best buy are the exact same way.

You ever hear of Nintendo, Konami, Capcom? Ever notice how many games they bring out to the PC? If Steam is the only thing you have to counter my statement then you just proved my point.

No, the PC industry isn’t ‘stronger than it’s ever been’ If you wanted FPS, or western RPG’s from the 90′s back you went PC…now it no longer matters. PC have Witcher/Witcher 2…and all they did was hurt themselves by not going multi-platform.

Believe whatever you wish. The bottom line is the PC isn’t even close to what it used to be 20+ years ago. The console industry dominates and *that* is what’s getting stronger.

I’m not a console fanboy by any stretch but i’m also not a PC elitest who ignores the facts while talking about graphics, graphics, graphics.

          • uolen

I have to agree. I exclusively had a PC up until 1 month ago when I bought a 360 for the AMAZING game Dark Souls. Then I changed my preorder from PC to 360 for Skyrim. Sure graphics might be great the last few years of 360 vs PC but the next generation of consoles will be to the point that it doesnt matter how fast your PC is, the games just cant look any better.

PS: My 47″ tv looks SO MUCH better than my 22″ widescreen monitor ever did. Oh and I CANT WAIT for Diablo 3.

      • nokturnal

you dont know how awesome the modding community is because you just wait for the developers to create dlc for you. the mods for this game will have some of the greatest minds working on them. it will be amazing and its something console gamers will never experience

        • Michaelwynn43

we can experience mods just look up Modio i have so many cool things for oblivion on Xbox 360 and many other games thanks to modded saves! Have backup knowledge before you speak.

          • Anon

Modio is garbage. What people perceive as the problem with mods on the PC vs  the 360 is the restrictive nature of the latter, when rather it is the technological inferiority of the 360. Full blown Oblivion “forks” such as Nehrim as well as the more intricate mods have a level of sophistication that is unattainable on a console; the most obvious reason being the lack of power in a 360. This is being increasingly more apparent in new games such as Crysis 2 where side by side comparisons of consoles and PCs show drastic differences in graphics quality, physics, and quite frankly it detracts from the game experience that the developer had intended.
Another glaring problem is the lack of significant mod development in the 360 community. There are a number of large international communities such as TesNexus that have thousands of contributors collaborating on projects simultaneously. But all in all the reason for the majority of pro console arguments is quite transparent. Most 360 owners exhibit a pattern that is referred to as ”Adaptive Preference Formation” AKA sour grapes.

        • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jacob-Riley/100000102037314 Jacob Riley

You’re right, I see no need to download BS mods that puts female characters in thongs.

The large chunk of mods released for games are total rubbish or complete overkill. If I wanted to cheat, i can find ways without downloading mods.

          • Anonymous

Agreed, however, some mods are absolutely worth grabbing.  Allot of the Stalker Mods were pretty fantastic.

    • Anonymous Coward

      > When Oblivion came out, it was considered one of “those games you’re going to have to upgrade your PC for to be able to play”

For you maybe.  When Oblivion came out I was onto my second dual-core, 64-bit AMD processor (as I’d got my first a full two years before).  Oblivion wasn’t a system stretcher by any means for me – I had it installed on a 2 x 200GB RAID and didn’t even notice the load times, which had been comprehensively derided.

I’m amused by the console jockeys that think this game will be anything other than a shadow of the PC experience.

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jacob-Riley/100000102037314 Jacob Riley

And i’m amused by PC elitists who think the PC is the end all be all of gaming yet ignores how most games coming out for the PC is just a console port.

        Enjoy those awkward controls.

        • Carlbrooke

Awkward controls? My USB xbox360 pad will work just fine on my pc. I never get why people just constantly whine about the percieved superiority of their chosen platform. I have an xbox 360, a ps3 and a decent pc, all of which i enjoy playing, all of which have thier benefits and all of which have thier flaws. Why does every thread about every game always end up with people bitching about the gaming choices of others?

Enjoy crappy graphics and physics. I’ll be sitting pretty with my water cooled SLId 590s and if I so please 3d Surround. As I’ve said before console gamers always feel the need to call sour grapes for something they cannot afford. I mean why have something inferior if you can buy better? Not to mention I can use Xbox/PS3 controllers on my rig.

          • uolen

In the future, when the next gen consoles come out and are extremely fast and just as good as your “$3000 dollar” PC and cost a FRACTION of what you spent, you will be eating words, and not the alphabet spaghettio’s kind. water cooled? what game do you play that looks so much better on your PC than someone who spent 600-800 dollars? unless your doing some crazy architecture graphical programming you are OVERKILL. brag more.

  • Anonymous

Why is everyone always surprise when the developers have to do this?
The XBOX only has 512mb of shared memory, so there is no room for High Resolution textures. They have to rely on streaming textures and it would be FAR to slow from optical media.

    • http://twitter.com/BigJon_V Jonathan van de Wouw

Exactly, my system has the same amount of RAM that the XBOX 360 Arcade has storage space.  The development cycle for the next gen consoles needs to be sped up to play catch-up.  And last I heard, the next PS is only due in 2013.

      • Anonymous

There are cell phones with more memory RAM than the XBOX360….

      • Dunham_lockhart

the PS4 has no release quarter yet, anything anyone’s saying right now is speculation, the Wii-U has is late 2012 to early 2013, and well likely be the first out, and it’s specs are monstrous, The current prototypes have 16 gigs of RAM. Xbox is yet to start full development of their next console and I’d say late 2013 at the earliest but if they want to do it right this time (No RROD or other hardware issues.) they should wait till late 2014

        • Anonymous

Just to keep things in perspective, not that I’m shooting down the rumors or anything, but the original architecture for the PS3 called for 4g of RAM, which was obviously scaled back pre-launch.

What the initial specs of these machines are showcased with, typically don’t end up that way at the time of launch.  Though, it would’ve been REALLY nice to have the PS3 launch w/ 4g of RAM…that would’ve rocked.

    • http://twitter.com/HighOnFireZA Chief Brave Spirit

      PS3 as well…, just saying

      • Anonymous

PS3 has less in fact with 256mb for Video and 256mb for System.

        • Dunham_lockhart

that’s the same amount…just two cards so its faster. plus the PS3 “OS” takes much less ram leaving more for the game.

          • Anonymous

It is the same amount, however, the RAM isn’t pooled as it is with the 360, also…the 360 actually has a daughter board with an extra 20-30m of RAM onboard.  Not a huge jump or anything but it’s some.

Not really sure which is best, from a PC perspective, shared pools are better. However, the PS3 has a rather unique design to it, so it’s hard tellin’.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/John-Halfpenny/100003080272397 John Halfpenny

I’m happy they try and cater for consoles. It means I can use my PC for high end gaming for at least 4 years in stead of 2.

why the hell can’t I hook up my own damn hard drive instead of buying one of the tiny ones microsoft sells.

  • Anonymous

    Time for the next Xbox.

Ok Skyrim is kind of understandable with its massive world but seriously for BF3 it is a bit ridiculous.

I may need to finally buy a hard drive.

    • CGI

Thing is, it’s not the size of the enviroment or world in a game, it’s the resolution of the textures that have a huge impact.

As time has gone by games have naturally become more detailed. Just like PC’s graphics cards with 512mb memory were good enough couple of years ago but now we’re pushing 1.5 – 2gb memory as the demands increase.

That’s why it’s not lazy developers causing these installations, it’s a plain system constraint that can be “assisted” or partially overcome by using the HD as extra memory.

Just like any other hardware when it starts to move to it’s end of life cycle or plain out of date status, tweaks and temporary solutions need to be done to make it last a little longer or perform better.

In this case with consoles it’s HD installations being used more and more and by an increased number of games so that it can stay or par of development.
Especially with multiplatform games because it can’t be optimized to use one specific platform to it’s best potential.

The irony is as gamers we can say as much as we like that graphics and other effects is not everything and it’s true. But at the same time we can’t deny that we love it when games become more detailed.
Developers and artist’s also have the right to design and create things that push the limits.

Those who complain about these installations are most likely not developers or system administrators who have to deal with these system resources (limitations) and try and find the balance between function and performance.

The interesting or scary thought is how are the next two or three years going to be until new consoles arrive. These increasing number of installations or sizes thereof are becoming more and more frequent.

      • FoxOneZA

        Well said!!!

  • Frostbittenjam

It would help if you read the source material that you’re citing here…. It clearly says in that article that the problems are caused by installing it to the harddrive. The first picture you have is them playing with the disc.

  • FoxOneZA

    Uh…oh…Gavin made a boo-boo?

I remember Halo 3 having slow load times if you install it to the HDD and PGR4 having sound issues if installed to the HDD.
Anyway that doesn’t look like low-res textures. It looks like 75% loaded textures.

    • Flashback

No. There isn’t a huge noticeable difference in loading times. It will be faster off the HDD, but not by a noticeable amount. It won’t be Xbox Morrowind loading times, which were huge.

  • Master Rob

that is a huge difference in quality, I think the 20 some minute leaked footage was the non installed version cause it looked like complete shit. the installed version looks so SOOO much better. wow.

  • Iphicrates

I’m confused:  Is it the installed version or the “off the disk” version which is having the texture problems?

It’s the installed version giving the problems.

In this case the issue is you need to stream data in at a rate which the DVD cannot sustain with the seeks required, so need the HD install.

And, yes, buy a proper xbox or buy a PC if you want to play a decent game. Moron.

  • PC Gamer

Gavin, either way… whether you got it right or not, PC gaming is the way to go for this title, because Todd Howard already stated that it runs best there.

    • DeadSalesman

Actually that is subjective. Sure it looks better if you have the GFX card, maybe plays better with a mouse… but that needs to be measured against your expectations and, of course, on what you are after from a games machine. The PC vs. Console argument is another classic along the lines of ‘Cats vs Dogs’.

Please lets leave it at the door.

      • Anonymous

If you have a GFX card that runs…DX9?  Have  you even looked the system requirements for Skyrim?  They’re…quite low.  75% of the computers sold in the past…5 years meet the requirements for this game.

      • Dunham_lockhart

        One word, MODS.

        • Anonymous

True, mods do come out, and they definitely can increase a great many things across the board, including system requirements, and a games longevity.  However, this isn’t about possible mods on Skyrim, this is about the vanilla version, which has particularly low system requirements.

        • http://twitter.com/JimLenoir James Lenoir

But do I really want to see my Khajit in all her furry nakedness? I’m just kidding, some of the mods on Oblivion and even Morrowind were out of this world. Just a pity Bethesda, dropped mod support for PS3… but I still think they were forced to by the big M, after all, guess who’s getting the first batch of timed DLC :(

There is a gameday patch that will be released, hopefully it will address the issues from loading it to HDD.

  • Vgamer247

With the new overhaul in graphics the framerate would suffer if they didn’t compromise somewhere whle running from disc. I don’t think it’s that big of a deal if I must install and I was going to anyway in hopes of faster loading screens. I agree, if you don’t have the measly 3.8GB then suck it up and buy a harddrive…

  • BalotelliWinks

This article is inaccurate. The problem occurs if you do install it, not if you don’t. If you want the textures to appear correctly, do not install it; play it off the disc.

    • Doe

This is correct. It’s a poorly written, completely inaccurate piece. The article it links to is contradictory.

  • L1ghtn1ngZAl

This entire article is wrong but not for the reasons everyone else has stated… Since when did games become about graphics? Having low res graphics does not make skyrim unplayable (as far as I know) so what difference does it make? Does it really warrant a R1000 hard drive? Its not that I dont appreciate how amazing a game can look and Im sure many of you will differ in opinion but in the grand scheme of things you will play whatever game you choose to, because you want to, not because of how it looks…

I think the problem lies with the fact that these uploads are from illegal copies. The official discs will have these issues fixed.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_DAIQPHLDYQFJSLC6ML7OUL5CQU Dr Farnsworth

Hey – did “LazyGamer” actually read the article they linked to?? Or were they too “lazy”?   LOL.  It says the OPPOSITE to what this article says… heres a cut & paste quote from the linked article:

“A user has posted two comparison screenshots of the same screen to show
how the 360 version of the title suffers from texture loading issues, if
installed onto the hard-drive of the console.   Strangely, if you play from the disk, the textures look fine and it
doesn’t suffer from the same issue. You can watch the screens below.”

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_DAIQPHLDYQFJSLC6ML7OUL5CQU Dr Farnsworth

Oh i forgot.. as mentioned no idea if these are legit copies, faked screens or early builds – they’re from an ambigious “user” at NEOGaf.  Note tho that Bethesda has already stated that there is a “day 1  patch”, so if this is a real problem, the patch certainly will address it.  What a terrible article.  No wonder the site is called “lazygamer”.   lol.. that kills me.   :-) )

  • Anonymous

OK…. I’m very confused. Some people are saying do the install or don’t do install. Which is going to make the game look better? Install or no Install? I know I’m retarded…. yada yada yada.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/David-Benston/100000476269052 David Benston

There’s only so much you can expect, texture-wise, running a game like this from DVD. What’s stupid is being forced to fork over twice what a drive should cost just to get the xbox formatting.  Forget bundling Explorer, M$ should get sued over that racket.

  • Skalywag

This debate is apparently based on pirated versions of the game. Not the final retail copy so I would wait until it’s released before picking a side. =P

  • The Doctor

Glad I got the 250 gig version :)

  • Cow2k2000

    good, screw the box

  • Dadag

Whoever made the images showing the textures needs to learn how to use apostrophes. This is totally lame and really unprofessional looking, I have to say.

  • Anonymous

This article has it completely backwards

It has lower res textures WITH an install…. NOT without. It’s a bug, not a feature.

    • Anonymous

Yeah, sounds like a bug, that’s atypical of what installs should do.

  • Anonymous

Terrible article. What should I expect though from a website called “lazygamer”… Should change it to    lazymotherfuckerswiththumbsupthereownasseswhiledaydreamingaboutsuckingass

  • Bryan847

Those pictures were tampered with or something! Check out the barrel behind the sword in each picture.

    • http://www.lazygamer.net Gavin Mannion

I think they tried their hardest to get the exact same screenshot.. it’s pretty close

  • http://www.lazygamer.net Gavin Mannion

Apologies I seem to have gotten this story backwards and was then out of the office all day yesterday and couldn’t fix it.

The issue seems to be entirely reversed which is really odd

    • Anonymous

No harm no foul, lol at your update though heh.  Was wondering why you hadn’t responded to some of the more….colorful comments.

      Have fun at the event?

  • Thetruth

Gavin if you weren’t such an idiot you wouldn’t get the bad comments. do
some research or don’t post its that simple. How you are even able to post the articles
is beyond me as my 10 brother can write better than you. Plus your blatant
stupid and lack of basic understanding regarding the game industry leaves shocked
that you are able to post these appalling articles.

Please for all of us stop posting.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_GVDX355HFBVAQVTDTIOUJCJY7M Lans

wow O.O you Skyrim trolls have some cute baby balls :D

    • http://www.lazygamer.net Gavin Mannion

Please next time you feel like insulting me could you check that your grammar is correct, I’m struggling to feel as offended as I really should ;)

As I said above, the issue exists it’s just backwards from what I originally understood.

  • doktorwyzzerd

I’m really glad that Bethesda has done this, it means that the game is optimized to use streaming content from the faster access speed of hard drives, as opposed to assuming a non-install. Look, the reality is that the 360 is aging, Devs have to use whatever tricks they have at their disposal. If getting high res textures without pop-in means a mandatory install, sign me up.

  • http://twitter.com/JimLenoir James Lenoir

Holy cow, I just read through all the comments,  and this got ugly. I don’t mind the odd bickering, but some of the comments directed at Gavin was just foul. LG Community, you need to be ashamed of yourself.

    Very uncool lads.. very uncool!

  • Mombasa69

Install it on the Xbox HDD or just run from the disc, it’s still going to look shit compared to the pc on ultra settings rofl.

  • HD

this guy dont know what he’s talking about. The game doesnt load the texture when you install it to the HDD. It’s fine without installing or with installing to the USB.  haha look who is the moron here…

    • http://www.lazygamer.net Gavin Mannion

You mean the one that didn’t read the update that was added to the beginning of the article a good 24 hours before you left your comment?

Or is it someone else we should be laughing at :)

  • Oldfart

I love Skyrim!!! as you all already know:) Now I am 100hours in and I decided to uninstall it and cook my old 360 to death by playing off of the disk. Now I have seen the game on the PC at full specs and I was blown away, thats why I thought I would try out this fix for the first retail version of the game.

Well its true. At first its hard to notice but after 100hours of low textures the subtle difference adds so much more to the overall atmosphere of the game. NO MORE SHINY WALLS, like before you use the claw in each cave I can now see the ingravings on the wall. NO MORE PIXELATED DULL HANDS, and I can read the signs on the posts, the water does not look plastic either.

Its just sad that for such a class A game so many people are playing it with shit textures and have no idea about this bug. I dont think Bethesda even bothered installing the game. Its actually sad.

For now I am going to have to cook the old 360 and play with earphones on while the Harriar Jump Jet tries to take off out of the Space Turbine.

Now give me the fixed GOTY edition with DLC already…RAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!
