Rockstar and GTA V can really do no wrong at the moment with the hype train rapidly picking up speed and bulldozing everything else in its path, but have they finally put a step out of place.

They recently released another bunch of screens from the game which all look as good as expected.

We get to see quadbiking, cops chasing airplanes, shooting, cars, helicopters and a relaxing beach scene…. and that’s the one that we can prove is a bullshot.

So what’s wrong with the above image? Well click on it and then look at the building on the far left and notice the photo editing tool left hanging in the window when the screenshot was taken.

Now we all know that screenshots from publishers aren’t ever really in game anymore but this is just ridiculous.

Gtashot

What I don’t understand though and I hope someone with some graphic design skills out there can explain. How did they save a picture with a tool in the shot? Are they taking screenshots using print screen instead of saving to disk?

Either way this doesn’t change anything, the game is going to be great and I can’t wait to get my hands on it.

What about the 3D design tools used by the game designers?

I use 3d Max and the widgets looks the same as that in your claimed “Bullshot”.

Assuming it’s a photoshop tool….. hmmm…. I hope you’re not trying to make the news instead of reporting it.

Sort of, the game might be running in development mode where characters like this are still visible in order to check if something is working/looking correctly. Although yeah, I have real reservations about GTA V looking anywhere close to that on consoles honestly.

This might still be an exact in engine photo with no editing. Like stated above it could just be in the 3D program

Nope, it can still be a beta still or a shot rendered on PC hardware running the same specs.

A screenshot taken from the actual editor? Nothing wrong with that, for all we know it could all be “live” footage. (Meaning they might as well be running the game)
Although I could be very wrong here. No surprise if I am.

Am I the only one that thinks the graphics looks strangely inconsistent? on one image the Character models looks freaking fantastic on the other it looks really bland and lacking detail.

Not to say the graphics will detract anything from the game. I’m just curious

its obvious…. Print screen from the editor to get the “perfect shot” catch is the dumbass posting them doesnt proof his work before sending out there…. or his photoshop skills are that of zoes then it all makes perfect sense 🙂

This leads me to ask, what is the standard for screen captures from consoles, coz unless the game actually has some sort of built-in screen capture we still don’t have “Share” buttons yet.

What’s the benchmark for Journalists to say “That console gameshot is NOT a Bullshot”

Guys, some game engines allow the game to be played from within the map designer (Examples: UnrealEd and CryEngine Sandbox editor). So basically this was a developer’s screenshot taken from within the editor. There is absolutely nothing fake about this.

We all know that screenshots are edited. It’s a fact. Like all models in magazines are photo shopped as well. That’s just how advertising rolls, selling you fakes.

Well let’s hope it was a shot captured and cropped from the PC version running it in the resolution that it was meant to be run at! Either way the bastards have already convinced me to buy the console version anyway (well just because they didn’t give me a choice lol).

This is a screenshot from their 3D editing software. The lines you see are the X,Y,Z elements to move the object in 3D space. Thats all it is.
