REVELATIONS

I am unashamedly excited for Resident Evil: Revelations 2 – the sequel to one of the better franchise entries of late. It will take Claire Redfield, as well as newcomer Moira Burton (daughter of Barry ‘lol Jill sandwich’ Burton), and put them up against all manners of horror. Much to my delight, the game finally has a release date.

According to Polygon, the game will be released on February the 17th – at least on PlayStation according to the Store. It will also land on PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, but those dates have not been confirmed. I think it’s safe to say that they should be available at the same time though.

For some reason, Revelations 2 will be released in episodic form. There will be 4 in total, each costing $5.99 apiece. Alternately, you can buy the complete season digitally for $24.99. If my mathematical genius is correct, buying all of them up front costs $1 more than buying them separately. How the heck does that even make sense?

Buying the season will give access to some other bonus content. I have a feeling it is something other than the bonus raid levels. Each episode will be released on a weekly basis. There are plans to bring the title to retail in a complete back too, but those details (cost and official release date) are unknown.

I could certainly use more Resident Evil in my life. I completely ignored the 6th core franchise entry because apparently it was was quite horrendous… for all the wrong reasons. I really hope Revelations 2 delivers!

They horribly botched the episodic format with Asura’s Wrath. This is their second attempt I guess
