Yes you read that right, the Playstation 3 will be getting all Battlefield 3 content a week sooner than everyone else.

This is including all of the loyal gamers who have been playing the franchise on PC in a time before the Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 were even a twinkle in everyone’s eyes. Sorry PC gamers, you want the content… you have to wait, because the Playstation 3 is more important than you.

In reality, business is business right? Score an exclusive deal and you get stuff that the other folks don’t get. Yay for you and your platform. It’s just the way it goes and it happens all the time, although in this case it seems like a complete kick in the nuts to even consider that PC gamers aren’t the top priority and that’s coming from someone who has played on consoles almost exclusively for 5 years now.

The post on the EU Playstation Blog (via CVG) made me initially think that it would not affect the biggest market of all in the U.S, but a quick visit to the U.S Playstation Blog showed that it’s happening there just the same.

This is what they have to say in their post:

But that’s not all for our PlayStation fans! You’ll be happy to know that beginning with our first expansion pack Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand (to be released later this year), all full-blown upcoming expansion packs for the game will appear one week early exclusively on PS3, brought to you by Sony!

A great business win for Sony and the Playstation, but it’s bound to leave a sour taste in the mouths of PC gamers the world over. Then again, a week isn’t so bad right… right?
