You may remember that at the end of last year, when the NXE was released to all connected Xbox Live users, that offline gamers were promised the update via game discs.

The time has finally come for offline Xbox 360 users to finally update to the NXE. Unless you really love the drab old bladed interface of the old dashboard, it won’t bother you to find out that the update will be mandatory if you want to play all of the new games that are going to be releasing with the update on the disc.

The first games to carry the update will be Tom Clancy’s HAWX as well as MLB ’09 and will ask you to update when you insert the game disc. Once the update is complete, you too will be able to make a little virtual version of yourself and then dress it up in any way you choose.

The update should be included in all Xbox 360 games from now on, so if you have no interest in the first lot carrying the update, you should still be able to get a hold of it in no time at all.
