More Battlefield 4 Ultra videos.. lots more

On Friday I posted a video showcasing Battlefield 4 in Ultra mode and stating that I was quite disappointed with how it looked.. well most people agreed with me but a few people claimed it was still beta code and it will look a lot better once it is complete.

Well EA games has now flooded the Internet with Battlefield 4 videos and most of them are claiming to be shot in Ultra mode… it would be weird if official EA video’s weren’t shot in Ultra mode though.

And I have to say I’m still not overly impressed. There is a lot of clipping which does point to the game still being in beta but I’m starting to worry that Battlefield 4 has attempted to do something that the consoles or PC tech just isn’t ready for.

Take a look and let me know, am I being overly critical or is this simply not as good as expected?

Knife Rivals

Naval Warfare

Parachute, RPG Tank Kill, Flag Cap

Gunship STRIKE

Brazilian Multiplayer

Skyscraper Collapse and Wave of Doom

And that’s it… happy Battlefield 4 morning

I’m probably not the right person to comment since I’m happy with BF3 on PS3…. But in my opinion, for a game of that scope with it’s huge open maps with destructable buildings and magnitude op weapon / vehicle options, the graphics is good enough.

If you think about development time there will in most cases be a trade off between scope and graphics… I’m not worried, the game will be fantastic, just like BF3 was!

I’d agree the graphics are good enough… but they are not great which is what people were expecting.

True. They are pretty much the same as they were in BF3 on PC imo which may cause dissapointment for some. For us on condole, going to next gen consoles is a massive upgrade lol.

The graphics are good, and the gameplay is more of the same, but in a good way, but what I hope to see is the destruction being on a total different level, be able to destroy all the buildings, leave the place in rubble in a hectic match. I think that will change everything. But that wave was kinda sad seriously

Still better than Skyrim by some margin. Love me some Skyrim but it has too many bugs and graphical glitches to even contemplate listing.

A few places in Knife Rivals the player shoots at aim at targets that is being distanced clipped from view giving the impression that the video is recording less than what the player can see. And in the third video the commentator talks about video being recorded spectator mode, maybe spectator mode’s graphics still fixed to certain specs while in development?

So, together with your own blinking (which should be a lot because you’ve been in front of the PC for hours), your in game char also blinks. Looks like they’re trying to hide something……..

Okay in the chopper video I looks great! a few thigns to fix yes but great. My biggest issue is still the destruction! top of that building hit with that many rockets would be toast just rubble! and thats what they should do! make it real and make you fear for your life when a chopper fires rockets off at you ect.

Much better than the vid / pics on Friday! Much more the BF I know and love. Looking good!! As you say, still perhaps needs a bit of tweaking, but it is test footage – I’m sure it’ll spice up even more before it’s released. Much happier…

This video even says it is alpha in the description?
Why not stick to the official E3 footage?

Ya, but people are too ignorant and quick to judge the game, alpha is not a final representation of the game,…. Mark my words people will eat their words when the game comes out….

Yeah. I can remember Doom III alpha running at 3fps on a high end system with the graphics being very close to what they would be in the final build. There is a reason why graphics are toned down in alpha builds apart from the materials, effects and systems not being completed. oO

So how about some videos from the OFFICIAL channel?

I’m still disappointed in @GAVIN who this this is beta footage, IT’S ALPHA… ALPHAAAAAAAAAAAAA flippet man, get your facts straight, one way to tell it’s not Beta is because the beta is only coming out like a month before bf4 and the beta is on all platforms, which makes this undeniably ALPHAAAAAAAAAAAAA. Wait till the DAMN game comes out before throwing around the word Disappointed and Unimpressed.

Huh? Those videos are the same random youtube channel as the one from Friday? In the video description some say its footage from the alpha build. Even if they are from EA it could be from a different build. The E3 videos(gameplay and Frostbite 3 Engine features) where much more impressive and of higher fidelity.

Ya, EA allowed some people to show this Alpha gameplay on there channel, else these videos would have been taken down, so the people who posted these vids would definitely know it it was alpha cuz EA would of told them.

Ultra is just all the settings on maximum, and just because the settings are on maximum doesn’t mean that it’s a good representation of what the game will be, it’s still the alpha code on ultra, or am I missing something here.

yep, there was no polish on the graphics yet, I played the PC alpha version, thoroughly enjoyed it. There was lots still missing from the game (obviously) and the missing textures seem to have everyone upset about the GFX. We weren’t allowed to reveal any alpha footage as per EA’s NDA but I see some people didn’t care.

Not official vids – taken from Alpha with everything turned down. Remember the BF3 beta on console – it had awful graphics.

I’m not sure if this was mentioned yet, but many video game producers do not release game play in ultra due to the face that most gamers are console gamers who will not experience that graphical quality.
