Modern Warfare 4 may be a next-gen title

Better than ever

This year we’re going to be seeing the release of Black Ops 2 on all the current consoles and PC but with the expectation that the new PS4 and Xbox Next are going to be released towards the end of next year it could be possible that this is the last Call of Duty for this generation.

In a recent job posting Infinity Ward has said they are looking for a Senior Network Engineer who can join them and help create an exciting, unannounced, game for the next generation of consoles.

It wouldn’t be a stretch to hear that Microsoft had given Activision a bit of cash to start creating the next Modern Warfare exclusively (limited time) for the next Xbox as it would obviously drive sales massively and is pretty much exactly what they did with Halo and Gears of War to move people onto the Xbox 360.

It would also go some way to quietening down the Call of Duty haters as this would require a huge new redesign of the engine and would also likely be pushing out entirely new levels of graphics.

So if you’re not a Call of Duty fan would you be tempted to jump back in if the next Modern Warfare wasn’t on current gen consoles?
