NickdeBruyne: The way I am feeling now, I really wish that my Mr. Delivery driver is driving some sort of Supercar or Superbike. Ignore the red lights! 19 minutes ago from Chromed Bird
NickdeBruyne: You know, it may have been the one section that I saw at E3, but I think people are going to be blown away by the new Castelvania's graphics 31 minutes ago from Chromed Bird
The Russian post apocalyptic survival title, Metro 2033, received a release date this morning, the Americans will be the first to experience it on the 16th of March with Europe (and hopefully us) getting our hands on it on the 19th of March.
Apparently we will receive free Xbox Live themed avatar goodies if you pre-order the title, generally these things don’t apply to us but I have emailed THQ to ask anyway and will let you know what they say.
I have included the About Metro 2033 blurb after the break
“Set in the shattered subway of a post apocalyptic Moscow, Metro 2033 is a story of intensive underground survival where the fate of mankind rests in your hands.
In 2013, the world was devastated by an apocalyptic event, annihilating almost all mankind and turning the earth’s surface into a poisonous wasteland. A handful of survivors took refuge in the depths of the Moscow underground, and human civilization entered a new Dark Age.
The year is 2033. An entire generation has been born and raised underground, and their besieged Metro Station-Cities struggle for survival, with each other, and the mutant horrors that await outside.
You are Artyom, born in the last days before the fire, but raised Underground. Having never ventured beyond your Metro Station-City limits, one fateful event sparks a desperate mission to the heart of the Metro system, to warn the remnants of mankind of a terrible impending threat. Your journey takes you from the forgotten catacombs beneath the subway to the desolate wastelands above, where your actions will determine the fate of mankind.”
I’ll admit I know nothing about Metro 2033, and it sounds ok, although I’ve saved the world in far too many post-apocalypse type scenarios (for my liking), and it sounds oddly like a Russian Fallout.
But the bit of info that really jumped out at me was…”Free xbox live avatar goodies”? That doesn’t sound right, MS never releases free game-related live avatar goodies.
Could be a sleeper hit or a quiet dummy from my comrades in Mother Russia. Will keep my eyes peeled for reviews, although March is a very heavy game based month. Dang.
