Meet the characters of Watch Dogs

The open world hacking saga from Ubisoft, Watch Dogs, is being released in 16 days and I have to say I’m stupidly excited for it. In fact I just tried to veto everyone so that I can review it but unfortunately I don’t yet have a PS4 so it’s not going to happen.

But what I can do is at least show you the characters that we are going to be meeting in the game to get you into the mood.

The main character of course is Aiden Pearce who is a highly skilled grey-hat hacker who is obsessed with the big brother nature of the city they live in with its continuous monitoring and heavy-handed security personnel.

But we knew all about Aiden so lets rather take a look at the supporting cast who you are going to be meeting and working with during your campaign.

Clara Lille

First up we have the expert hacker and tattoo artist Clara Lille who is better known as the Profiler.

Clara is considered a tool of Aiden’s as you can use her abilities to hack into anything connected to Chicago’s CenTral Operating System. Clara can hold up to 8 different abilities at a time which she can then use to perform certain tasks and open up new side missions.

“T-Bone” Grady

Next up we have T-Bone Grady who definitely reminds me a ton of Trevor from Grand Theft Auto.

He’s a complete nut job who loves blowing things up and getting into fights. As with most characters in the game he is also a hacker and has been hacking since before the Internet was even a thing, or close enough.

But you’re likely going to be using T–Bone to break some faces instead.

Jordi Chin

Not much is known about Jordi Chin apart from that he is a member of the Fixers with an inane ability to get his hands on any weapon that is required.

The Fixers are a band of mercenaries in Watch Dogs who can be hired to fix problems or clean up after you’ve fixed a problem. Jordi is expected to be quite a major player in the game and that is probably why his history and roles are being kept under wraps for now.

Anthony “Iraq” Wade

Next up we have what I can imagine will be one of my favourite characters, Anthony “Iraq” Wade.

Iraq is ex-military and now runs a street gang with military precision and tactics. Iraq knows nothing about technology and definitely prefers to solve his problems with his fists and weapons rather than hacking something.

Dermot “Lucky” Quinn

Last up we have Dermot “Lucky” Quinn who is a 75 year old philanthropist. Or what I actually think is going to be the main protagonist and mafia leader.

And that’s all we know…

But if you want to see all 4 in action then take a look at this character video below

Watch Dogs is being released on the 27th of May for all platforms – though the Wii-U versions been delayed a little.

However the PlayStation 4 version is R100 more than the Xbox 360 version for some reason.  Next-gen tax!

I'm cranky, arrogant and ever so amazingly annoying but when you get to know me you will also realise I'm honest and incredibly good at describing myself... now pass me that beer

  • Kromas

Their pose is like the cover art for a really bad goth band.

    • oVg Errorist

      or

      • Kromas

Hahahaha … Hackers …. so retro.

        • Double-O-Six and a half

gotta love Angelina Jolie in this pic… back before she had millions of teenage boys imagining all sorts of situations in which they could get Lara Crofted…

      • HvR – THE Average GAmer

        God

  • oVg Errorist

Only one is playable. The others come with level 2-5 DLC season pass gold membership Ultra European uncensored edition at $40 each.

  • Jonah Cash

I am over hyped for this!! This will be game of the year, with Destiny a close second!! This is my first pre order for 2014!!

  • Rainman

What to do? Buy the game or buy my wife a birthday present.
Either way i am going to regret it.

    • Kromas

Buy her the game as her BDay present. Win-Win.

    • Hammersteyn

Buy the game and a bottle of chloroform

  • Hammersteyn

Luckily there’s a welder on the team. There’s a lot of welding to be done in games that requires stealth and hacking.

  • Alien Emperor Trevor

That woman in the header with the white streak in her hair:

My mom told me once that when she was young, which was around the time they discovered fire, they used to say that if a woman had a white streak like that in her hair it meant she had syphilis.

    True story lol.

  • Hammersteyn

The PS3 version should cost the same as the 360. Question is. How much better is the Ps4 version than the Ps3 version?

  • Rincethis

Not sure why I am still hesitant to get excited about this. Must be my spider sense…

    • HvR – THE Average GAmer

Probably that tagline “Hacking is our weapon”

    • Alien Emperor Trevor

      *cockroach sense FIXED! *run*

      • Rincethis

        Careful, you can’t kill us!

        • Alien Emperor Trevor

          lol

        • Mossel

If I do, do I also get a longsword?

      • Admiral Chief in Space

        Nah, his RooiBos is tingling

        • Rincethis

          That’s what she said 0-o

          • Alien Emperor Trevor

O_O There is an obvious reason for that, and I’m not going there.

          • Rincethis

            I did 0-o

          • Admiral Chief in Space

In Afrikaans we call that “luiperd-koud, net ‘n geritsel tussen die blare”
I’m assuming that’s what she said then?

          • Rincethis

            Actually it was ‘GET DOWN!’

          • HvR – THE Average GAmer

            Better get her some anitbiotics

          • Rincethis

Nah, we’ve already seen how there are very few extreme resistant antibiotics out there now so fate sealed.

  • Admiral Chief in Space
  • Sageville

    Question: Watchdogs or Wolfenstien?

    • Admiral Chief in Space

Do you prefer open to linear(ish)?

    • Mossel

Just wait for a steam special and get both!

      • Sageville

I’d buy one of these on PS4, I’m tending towards Watchdogs atm…

        • Mossel

Yeah Watch Dogs looks like the better game. Something new and fresh. My plan is to win Watch Dogs along with a PS4. So here’s hoping on that!

          • Sageville

            Is your name Llewellyn? No?

            Sorry no winnings for you!

          • Mossel

Are we talking about the same competition?

          • Sageville

            I don’t think it matters

    • Tauriq Moosa

      The dog over the wolf

    • Ameno Sagiri

You posted that 18 days ago.

Going to tell you that I’ve played both Watch Dogs and Wolfenstein.

Beat Wolfenstein in less than 10 hours. Have over 25 hours invested in Watch Dogs and I’ve been so sidetracked from the main story that I’m not even half way done with it yet.

      Get Watch Dogs.

      • GasaiYuno

There’s soo much to do. I love the amount of content in the game.

  • MakeItLegal

Um lazygamer , u said the ps4 version will be R100 bucks more than the 360 version ? If I am not mistaken both should retail for $60 ? Can You elaborate a bit more , or maybe I missed the article where u addressed the , next gen tax ?

I am just struggling to under stand how both are valued at $60 but one is R100 more than the other ?

    Thanks

They should be selling for exactly the same price – but they’re not.

      • MakeItLegal

        Thanks …

My next question is , whoose pocketing that extra 100 bucks , retail shops ? Publishers ? Gaming has become almost too expensive to invest in , I will not be surprised when in a few months ppl come back and say piracy has gone through the roof …

  • Happy Hamster

So the release which brings me to a Question – will it only be released on the Friday 30th which is the norm of most games being released in SA
