Mass Effect Trilogy’s DLC plans are…stupid

When the Mass Effect Trilogy – a collection of all three of the games in the space opera series – was announced, many of you asked if it would be receiving all of each games’ respective DLC, as is often the case with GOTY editions of games and rereleases. We assumed it would, because that would make sense. We’ve now learned to stop hoping for sense.

For some reason, fathomable only to suited people at EA and Bioware, each version of the collection will be receiving different lots of DLC.

According to Eurogamer, the PC version will get the best selection of included DLC – though it’s a pretty sparse list, considering all the DLC released for the game. Pc gamers will get Mass Effect 1’s Bring Down the Sky and Pinnacle Station DLC on disc. Mass Effect 2 comes with the Cerberus Network and its related DLC, including the Zaeed campaign, and few extra missions and weapons. For Mass Effect 3, you’ll get the game’s online pass. That’s it.

Xbox Gamers get even less, with not a damned thing from Mass Effect 1, and nothing but the Cerberus Network for Mass Effect 2 and the Online Pass for Mass Effect 3.

PlayStation gamers? Who knows what you could end up with – because Bioware’s yet to decide.

Regardless of which platform you pick it up for, you’ll have to pay extra to get the full experience; having to purchase the Lair of the Shadow Broker, Overlord and Kasumi DLC for Mass effect 2, and Mass Effect 3’s Leviathan DLC if you haven’t bought them already.

Wasn’t the point of a bundle to y’know, bundle EVERYTHING together? Greedy, greedy stuff, Bioware and EA.
