Mass Effect 3’s Shepard to be “deeper” Popular

Me3Deeper

Though news that Mass Effect 3 for the PC would be tethered to Origin might have put you off, but if you play the game for its role playing, you might be drawn back in by the fact that this time around, Shepard is going to be a much deeper character.

“One of the things we wanted to do in Mass Effect 3,” said lead Mass Effect writer Mac Walters “was deepen Shepard as a character, so you really get to express what your Shepard is feeling and going through, throughout the war.” “We wanted to take that next step with the story telling. Yeah, it’s a war, yeah it’s got giant robots we get to shoot in the face, but there is a human side to the story. You are role-playing, and you are role-playing as a human. Why shouldn’t that human have an emotional component throughout the game?”

According to Walters, Mass Effect 3’s going to offer an unparalleled emotive experience.

“The emotion, and depth of writing that we have in there, has also gone up another level,” he continued. “When a video game can make you feel something but also be fun and entertaining, then I think we’ve done our jobs.”

Even though Mass Effect has become less of an RPG and more of a 3rd-person shooter action adventure with some RPG elements to it, I’m marking the days until I get to save the universe and destroy the reapers as Femshep once and for all.

I know this isn’t exactly the right forum, but seeing as though there will be plenty of Mass Effect players reading this I thought I’d ask. After formatting my PC I deleted my ME2 saves cos I forgot to back them up (stupid) and now I’ve lost the character I was playing with from the beginning of ME1. What’s the best way to either get my saves back (if that’s even possible) or where can I get reliable save games? masseffect2saves.com seems to have a lot – is it reliable though? If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated…

I’m playing it right through again, i did the same thing, I’ve almost completed ME1

The saves are good, especially if the poster of a savegame suports you with enough informations. Afterwards you can also modify several aspects of the Savegame you downloaded from there with Gibbed’s Savegame Editor – Changes made to the saves though. regarding ME1 plotchanges need a playthrough in ME2 in order to apply the changes actually ingame.

I did the same thing after loosing my ME1 saves and downloaded a save from  masseffect2saves and rushed through ME2 once with that game and right before the suicide Mission Imade some minor changes to the ME1 plot and also modified the appearance of my shep (using a custom Shep but assigning the standard Shep texture and the Illusive man’s eyes to him; So that he now looks something like this except mine looks superior ;) http://goo.gl/CXlRD). At this point i could finish the game and then I did a normal second playthrough.

So as a man, Shepard’ll be deeper and connected.
Does that mean then that as a woman, she’ll be deeper and strung up?

Geoff… all that opportunity for a dirty joke about FemShep and you didn’t use it? What has happened to you man!?

I know it was there…After I’d written this up I sat debating with myself whether or not to go there. :P

You should’ve gone deeper into femshep when you had the chance Geoff…
