Mass Effect 3 to include cut Mass Effect 2 content

Citadel

Shepard  was meant to go back to the Citadel, the intergalactic space hub to do more stuff in Mass Effect 2 – but that content got cut.

Speaking to OXM, Bioware has revealed that said cut content will be making its way to the highly anticipated wrap-up of the trilogy.

"There was a Mass Effect 2 plot that was a kind of callback to the first Mass Effect that was going to be on the Citadel, and we cut it. But now it’s made a resurrection in Mass Effect 3, so I’m happy, but I can’t say what it is,” Mass Effect 3’s lead writer Mac Walters told the magazine.

“That’s the nice thing about trilogies, sometimes you get a second chance."

Personally? Though I’m happy to return to the Presidium, I don’t really care where Shepard goes in ME3 – just as long it maintains the level of quality we’ve come to expect from Bioware and the Mass Effect series. Dragon Age II left a terribly bitter taste in my mouth, and I sincerely hope that Bioware’s learned from that game’s negative fan feedback.

Mass Effect 3 hits PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in March next year – but for RPG fan’s there’s more Skyrim, and the rather intriguing, all-star Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning on the horizon for February.
