According to DFC intelligence Report (which sounds cooler and more ominous tan it really is), BioWare’s intergalactic (Planetary, Planetary Intergalactic) Space RPG shooter has done pretty gosh darn good business on the Xbox 360Â in January.
How good? Well, according to their US forecasts the game’s outsold it’s closest competitor, Army of Two : the 40th Day by 6 to 1. They say Mass Effect 2 sold 1,100,000 copies in January – quite exceptional if you consider that covers only 5 days, and that RPG’s are generally a niche market. Admittedly, the RPG elements in Mass Effect 2 have been toned down and scaled back for playability – a decision that’s obviously paid off. We thought it was pretty good.
Check the rest of DFC estimates after the jump.
The rest of DFC’s estimates (for the Xbox 360) are as follows:
- Bayonetta: 170,000
- Blood Bowl: 9,000
- Dark Void: 22,000
- Darksiders: 150,000
- Divinity 2: Eco Draconis: 25,000
- Vancouver 2010: 8,000
What did you spend you hard-earned January money on? Mine went to Mass Effect 2.
