The most anticipated game for this year, for most gamers anyway, is Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V. somehow, even though GTA IV was in many ways pretty terrible, people are hyped to hell about the game’s sequel. People who aren’t PC gamers, that is – because the game’s not coming to their preferred platform. Only it’s starting to look like it is.
Not one, but two European retailers have suddenly started listing a PC version of the wanton criminality and hooker-killing simulator, according to neoGAF. Both Amazon Germany and Austria’s GamesOnly have the game listed for a PC release, with Gamesonly also listing a (now pulled) special edition for PC, which included the following:
- SteelBook with exclusive artwork
- World map
- Stunt-planes challenges
- Online-store concessions
- Bonus outfits
- Bonus tattoos
- Special abilities booster
- Exclusive weapons
It’s quite unlikely that they’ve just made it all up, instead probably receiving the as yet unconfirmed info from the German and Austrian distributor of the game. Of course, we all expected that the game would hit Pc at some point; every single GTA game (barring the mobile ones) have found a home on PC, albeit a few months later than their console counterparts.
GTA V is scheduled for release on PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 17. My money says it’ll be hitting “next gen” consoles and Pc not too long afterwards.
