Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed 3 is shaping up to be a pretty extensive game, offering you hour upon hour of engaging, stabby, colonial-killing content. It looks like PlayStation gamers will be given just a little more.

Neither Sony nor Ubisoft have really announced as much yet, but it’s become clear that – as with previous instalments – the PlayStation version of the next Assassin’s Creed will be getting a dash of extra love. According to the game’s box art on Amazon, the PS3 version of Assassin’s creed 3 will contain an extra hour of content – though there’s no word on just what that content might be. Sony did, however, announce at E3 that its platform would be getting exclusive Assassin’s Creed 3 DLC at some point towards the end of October.

Of course, it’s entirely possible, with it being a PS3, that the extra hour will be the time it takes for the game to install. Amirite?

That’s not where the PlayStation AC love ends though; also at E3, Sony announced an Assassin’s Creed 3 bundle, containing a special edition of the console, with the game thrown in. The Ps3’s mobile little brother, The PlayStation Vita will also be getting a standalone Assassin’s Creed game, Liberations, featuring the  series very first playable female protagonist.

If you’ll recall, Assassin’s Creed games tend to get better treatment on Sony’s consoles; Assassin’s creed 2 featured a bit of interoperability with the PSP tie-in game, and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations for the PS3 came bundles with the first AC game in its entirety – for free.

Funnily enough, it seems like the PS3 version might not be the best console version of the game. And neither, my good friends, is the Xbox 360 version. According to some sources, the Wii U version of the game runs at a native 1080p at a buttery smooth, consistent 60 fps – so it might possibly be worth holding out for.
