Gears of War 2 gets Game of the Year Edition; South Africans get Screwed

Gears2

The sequel to the game that catapulted the Xbox 360 to stardom, Gears of War 2 is a pretty damn decent game. If you were bummed when the retail release of the all-DLC-included version of the game got shelved, there’s a faint glimmer of hope. Gears of War 2 is getting a “Game of the Year” Edition which does indeed include all DLC to date. Odd, considering Gears of War 2 failed to win any Game of the Year Awards, but I digress. Happy to hear of the new Gears 2 release?

Don’t put those dancing shoes on just yet…

Instead of putting the DLC on the disc like they said they would, They’ve now opted to include a redeemable token to download the “All Fronts collection” which poses two problems for local gamers : Firstly, I’m still waiting for the goddamned code that was supposed to come with the game when it first launched and secondly – even if local copies do come with the code, the bloody content is blocked, necessitating the use of a VPN.

Thanks once again Microsoft, for not giving us Xbox Live. With this next release could you include a tube of anal lube?

I understand LBP and Fallout GotY editions because those were commonly voted GotY, but Gears of War 2? Seriously.

I would prefer it if MS uses vaseline instead. :pirate: Any South Africans on Major Nelson? Maybe it’s time we spammed the old sock’s page, demanding “Xbox live for Africa or else”.

Granted they’ll (the yanks and the europeans) probably chuckle at us, the sad denizens of the lost continent, but what other options do we have?

I’m already starting to get paranoid about whether our super awesome non Live editions of ODST and Forza 3 will include their second disc’s.
