Some games are still fairly short and sweet but still get caught up in the flurry of new releases. I finally got my hands on a Playstation 3 of my own earlier this year and with it, a new pile of exclusive games to play and never finish.

I have immensely enjoyed playing Uncharted, Killzone 2, inFamous and LittleBigPlanet so far but just don’t think to put them in and play them. I especially want to get Uncharted finished because I believe I am pretty much right at the end of the game and really want to have it done before the sequel arrives. Being someone who started on one console earlier, I obviously have the scenario where all my online buddies are on Xbox Live, which pushes me to switch the Xbox 360 on first just to see what everyones up to and eventually not even thinking to put the other one on.
This brings me onto my next point, multiplayer games. Gaming is gaming so whatever you are playing, you should be enjoying your hobby. Problem is that every now and then a game comes along that soaks up all of your time.
While I hadn’t really bothered playing any fighting games since Tekken Tag, I picked up a copy of Street Fighter 4 at launch and have found myself completely and undeniably addicted to the depth of the gameplay. So much so, that since it’s launch earlier this year I have already logged just on 430 hours of playtime in the game. On one side, I really enjoy playing the game but at the same time I want to curse it for stealing all of my limited gaming time and have found myself practically incapable of turning down a chance to play it if an invite should arrive.
So now, as the 2009 games rush arrives I find myself already making up my list of new games that I want, even when I have so many to still play. Modern Warfare 2, Uncharted 2, Forza 3, Borderlands, Batman, Dirt, Operation Flashpoint… phew, the list goes on and on.
What is even better/worse depending on how you look at it is that I don’t even want to hold off on buying some of these because so many games are now coming out during what would have been next years’ “dry season”.
How about you readers, do you keep your games limited, do you trade out or are you sitting with a similar set of issues? Leave a comment and tell us your plans for dealing with the onslaught of titles coming our way.
