They are the reason why you can actually pay real money for “clothes” for your digital dolls.

They are the reason why console makers can cut corners and deliver shoddy consoles, without any sort of repercussions.

Frankly i dont mind the fanboys much because they are the product of something even worse. These pretentious gaming news and media outlets. 90% of them either spread misinformation, their own bias or purposefully post fanboy material to get their site hits. 90% of these guys are gaming bloggers and fanboys themselves that have nothing better to do with their time. I mean for the love of God you just have to read the articles on N4G to understand e.g the fake Gran Turismo 5 loading times and crash damage, the site that posted a Nvidia tablet and photo shopped the PSP2 Logo saying he had an inside source, sites with bloggers trying covince ppl that MS raising the price of Live is a good thing, sites posting images of multi Platform games that look near identical and try to get the fanboys roaring by using 1000′s of dollars of equipments to prove this version runs 2 frames per second better than this version etc.

Really are fanboys that bad or should we start looking at some of the idiots who think they are actual journalists and pretend they have high standards before we point fingers at the fanboys and disillusioned industry they have created?

Comon Gavin thats like saying propaganda didnt create Nazi’s or American news doesnt colour a better picture of America to Americans. The media has power and the way they use it results in Nazi’s, terrorists, freedom fighters, racists and fanboys etc. The media gives ppl a sense of identity and helps them form their opinions more often than not. Amercian soldiers ran off to war with best intentions of stopping nuclear terror and chemical weapons based on lies. Fanboys will buy Kinect instead of Move because Gavin prefers Kinect and writes positive things while ingoring most of the negative. You guys have power to persuade ppl to go one way or another thats why its the duty of any self respecting journalist to present the facts as is and if they would like to post a personal preference then post it as an opinion piece as you did with Kinect or even better in the comments section instead of the articles themselves.

This is why most ppl have zero respect for sites like Edge and Destructoid while sites like Giant Bomb has such a respected following. They point out facts and if there is a problem with a multi plat game thats huge like Bayonetta or the Orange box they will point it out and if there is a better experience to be had with R.U.S.E using Move they will point it out but not write an entire article about it trying to garner hits. Like i said ill stick by my comment and say The gaming media are worse than fanboys because they give them the fuel and help them form their gamer identity.

I will admit that I am a XBOX and Blackberry fanboy. I don’t care if your phone or console can do better than mine. It is what works for me.

You are right though maybe this site that thinks im the same demographic that can be convinced to buy Kinect because the author equates our gaming satisfaction to the satisfaction his two daughters will get from playing Kinect isnt for me.

i think the worst fanboys are pc gamers, not console gamers. PC gamers think by buying a GTX 480 they can have free sex, and they kill console when in reality, most pc games are shoddy ports, with stupid drm. PC fanboys have the worst egos and think they know it all. If you want advise, go straight to the manufacturer to not ask your local expert, as they know everything about nothing!
