Flamebait Friday Debate : Modern Warfare 2 vs Battlefield Bad Company 2 Popular
   March 12th, 2010 clock image 12:15 pm

Argument

Hey folks! It’s time for our Friday debate – and today you can leave your console allegiances at the door. We’re here today to discuss the two multiplayer shooter heavyweights – Modern Warfare 2 and Battlefield Bad Company 2.

Superficially, they’re quite similar games – Dramatic, explosive single player campaigns and frantic team-based multiplayer with experience and levelling-up systems. They’re both about to receive some post-release DLC to keep things fresh and both seem to be keeping the people on my friends lists pretty occupied.

Now that you’ve had ample time to play both – which one offers you a better experience? Which has lobbies filled with morons? Gloves are off, let us know which you prefer – and why.

    Battlefield BOET!

  • Flamebaitboy

Both suck equally. Sort of. Battlefield might be slightly ahead.

  • http://www.lazygamer.co.za LazySAGamer

I think Modern Warfare is the better game but Infinity Ward dropped the ball big time by not fixing the glitches and allowing the knifers to rule the maps..

Battlefield is far more tactical and the run and gun idiots really don’t get very far which makes me happy.
It’s just a pity the language is so juvenile.

  • Milesh Bhana ZA

i doubt you’re going to get the fight you’re looking for as a large percentage of MW2 players are moving to BF:BC2 not necessarily because they think it’s better, but because they’ve prestige’d many many times and want something new.

    • http://www.lazygamer.co.za Geoff

Not really looking for a fight, just some active conversation. But you’re probably right – the MW2 okes have been playing incessantly since November.

  • Al360

    battlefield FTW
MW2 is for the people who are too lazy to actually be tactical if u wanna just shoot and be shot then MW2
battlefield actually tries to go the extra mile and give u more things to do
    just my 5c

  • spl0it

Battlefield is a far better online experience

And for the moment its not spoilt by Glitchers and Whingers

  • Lupus

Yup because that is how all the Battlefield games I played felt, Tactical to the point of helicopters crashing into buildings… Call of Duty is definitely more tactical

    • spl0it

A 4 player squad playing tactically can swing an entire game in Battlefield

  • Dark

    MW2

  • Uncle

BF is better. Dedicated servers, free map packs, tons of local players on PC & Xbox 360. Can’t speak for PS3.

BF has incredible longevity, BF2 was still going locally 5 years later.

  • mujabees

    BFBC2 is better just because.

  • Maxiviper

BFBC2, More to do, drive many vehicles, and there’s nothing better than a long range kill with a sniper rifle. Lag is almost non existent for me,

The fact that you can blow away walls and take down entire buildings just makes the game so much more enjoyable.

  • http://www.designwave.co.za Nick de Bruyne

Im back from Holiday yay! I still havent touched MW2′s multiplayer this year, with the exception of one Spec Ops session, which is still fun.

Battlefield will take some to fully flower into the camper/spawnkill fest that it may become, but I still enjoy it more. The pace is a lot better and the vehicles and map size just bring an epic feel to the game. Nothing better than rolling with you and 4 buddies in a tank down the road, with snipers positioning themselves and a big chopper flying overhead as it moves out from the base. Just awesome.

  • Fred

The vehicles in Battelfield make it a better multiplayer experience.
