E3 2009: Metal Gear Solid coming to the Xbox 360

I guess this is the end of my long running rumour mongering about Metal Gear Solid coming to the Xbox 360, feels a bit like an anti-climax really because it’s not a real Metal Gear Solid or it’s not the 5th in the series that we were expecting.

Unfortunately we apparently have no Solid Snake in the game but we do have Raiden and I guess he’s cool enough but I think he is going to struggle when put up alongside Alan Wake, Splinter Cell: Conviction, the Natal Project, Assassin’s Creed 2 and all the other titles we knew of beforehand.

Hopefully after the E3 dust settles we will receive some more information about this title but until then check out the reveal video below.

Well, to be fair, i don’t think porting Metal Gear Solid 4 over to the Xbox 360 would work (i aint a fanboy, i got both the Xbox360 and a PS3, and i play more on the Xbox), cause as i understand it, MGS4 runs on a double layer blueray disc, and in disc terms, that’s approximately 7 Duel Layer DVD’s for one game… eish…

i think MGS:R will be a completely different genre to the normal ones. less stealth and more action.

Not really, PS3 does not use any image compression and has duplicate information on the disc to speed up loading times on the slow blu-ray drive.

even so, if you manage to discard a 3rd of the redundancy, you still looking at a multiple disc’s.
maybe not such a bad thing

I wonder if this game will even be as big as MGS 4 was… I kinda feel ripped off.. Yeah we got metal gear… But not the one we’ve been nagging for… MS probably thought its an old game now and no one will buy it anyways

Looks like it has now been confirmed as exclusive by the developers. Typing on my phone now, so I can’t post a link unfortunately.

Yeah the mass confusion may be over.. it’s apparently appearing on both the 360 and PS3 simultaneously

I wonder if MS only bought “MGS:Rising” or are they entitled to have All the MGS games now? Future Xbox Market place releases ???
