Diablo is playable on consoles.. just not for you

According to a mini interview with Polygon; Diablo is actually running and playable on a console but just not outside of the R&D department of Blizzard. Which I envisage to either be in a dormant volcano or in a submerged city somewhere between Cape Town and Rio.

According to Rob Pardo, Blizzards Chief Creative Officer

“We’ve got builds up and running on it. We’re hoping to get it far enough along where we can make it an official project, but we’re not quite ready to release stuff about it, but it’s looking pretty cool.”

I do think that releasing Diablo on a console would dramatically increase sales and I’m pretty confident that the console it would be released on would be the Xbox 360 as porting to it compared to the PS3 is still considerably easier, according to all developer interviews.

I wonder what the PC Master Race thinks about one of their cult titles being released to the stinking masses on consoles?

OR would this be a launch title for Valve’s PC console thing?
