Now lets hope some indie group snaps up this engine and re-makes all the old classics I for one would love to play Half Life 1 and others with this engine

iD: Own engines
Epic:Own engine
Bungie:Own engine
Dice:Own engine
Are there any room for this ? I think most of the smaller companies are heavily invested in teh Unreal 3 engine

Well DICE used the UE3 in Mirror’s Edge and
Ubisoft are using a modified version of UE2.5 for SC: Conviction.
Brother’s in Arms (Ubisoft) also used the UE3.

So it’s not like it isn’t happening already.

However like you’ve stated, most smaller companies are probably invested in the Unreal Engine.
