Last year’s Medal of Honour Honor (sorry) might not have garnered the press review scores that EA had hoped for, but it made up for that with some serious sales figures. EA has confirmed that it sold 5 million copies of last year’s contemporary military shooter – not bad for a game with a Metacritic average of 73% across three platforms.
With a market of 5 million players, it comes as no surprise that a second instalment for the franchise reboot is on the way. It’s already in development by Danger Close (who did the single-player campaign in the previous title), a subsidiary studio of Electronic Arts Los Angeles. The executive produced for the game, Greg Goodrich, hopped onto the Medal of Honor blog to share the news.

So whether you want it or not, a new MoH is on the way. Prior to last year’s MoH release, EA said that they had their eye on the military shooter crown – a crown that has been nestled on Activision’s head for years now thanks to the Call of Duty franchise. EA will have to up their game, so to speak, if they hope to wrestle that title from Activision’s grasp. Listening to fans’ feedback, as Goodrich claims is happening, is a good place to start.
