For some reason, Square’s been teasing – nay, taunting us – with trickled images from its next Final Fantasy game, XIII-2. Well, now we’ve got some more eye Final Fantasy eye candy to feed your ravenous occipital lobes. Set in the same universe as the decidedly linear XIII, XIII-2 promises to be a much, much better game, and more player driven.
Here are some screens showing some events from the game, along with some of the side activities you’ll be doing…like betting on Chocobo racing. Chocobo’s! Yay! I loved the combat system from XIII – but didn’t really like very much else. I am, however, willing to let Square show me what a fool I’ve been for doubting them with this sequel. Last chance, Square…don’t let me down.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 will be available for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in February next year.
